{"id":93215,"date":"2021-06-07T12:00:22","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T16:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=93215"},"modified":"2021-06-07T11:18:10","modified_gmt":"2021-06-07T15:18:10","slug":"indie-watch-masha-slamovich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/06\/07\/indie-watch-masha-slamovich\/","title":{"rendered":"Indie Watch: Masha Slamovich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With COVID-19 restrictions easing in the United States independent wrestling is getting ready to blossom once again.\u00a0 With\u00a0<strong>All Elite Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>and WWE signing up a number of talents the independent scene is currently elevating a number of new stars.\u00a0 One of these stars is &#8220;Russian Dynamite&#8221; Masha Slamovich who in her early 20s already has extensive experience in Japan and has made an immediate impact in the U.S. since her return from Japan earlier this year.<\/p>\n<h2>Debut in Japan<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"[Free Match] Masha Slamovich vs. Erica Leigh | Beyond (Women&#039;s Wrestling, Marvelous, Sendai Girls)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/i_0NMODfwF8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>What many people may not know is that Masha Slamovich actually made her professional wrestling debut in Japan for\u00a0<strong>REINA\u00a0<\/strong>as Skinripper.\u00a0 Slamovich debuted in a six woman tag that featured current Stardom performer\u00a0<strong>Konami<\/strong> as well as\u00a0<strong>PURE-J&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>Leon and Hanako Nakamori, two battle tested veterans of Joshi.<\/p>\n<p>Slamovich got to wrestle for\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling WAVE\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana\u00a0<\/strong>during this first run in Japan, one of her first matches was even against\u00a0<strong>All Japan Women&#8217;s Pro Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>legend\u00a0<strong>Mima Shimoda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Upon her return to the United States, Slamovich wrestled for promotions like <strong>World of Unpredictable Wrestling<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Victory Pro Wrestling<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Warriors Of Wrestling<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>CWF Canada<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and a number of others. Slamovich didn&#8217;t find gold hard to come by as she won titles in a number of companies in the U.S. including the Nickel City Wrestling Women&#8217;s Championship (which she held for longer than anyone else), Victory Pro Wrestling Women&#8217;s title, WUW North Amerian Women&#8217;s title and the Classic Championship Wrestling women&#8217;s title to name just a few.<\/p>\n<p>Between the occasional trip to Canada and her home territory of New York Masha Slamovich wasn&#8217;t finding success hard to come by, she even got to achieve a huge personal milestone in 2019 when she got to wrestle in her hometown in Russia, and yet, the best was yet to come from Slamovich.<\/p>\n<h2>Tour with Marvelous<\/h2>\n<p>In February 2020 Masha Slamovich returned to Japan to tour with\u00a0<strong>Marvelous That&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Pro Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>where she would train under\u00a0<strong>Chigusa Nagayo<\/strong>, widely regarded as the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/10\/01\/top-5-womens-wrestlers-of-all-time\/\" target=\"_self\">greatest women&#8217;s wrestler of all time<\/a>.\u00a0 When COVID-19 hit Slamovich stayed in Japan with Marvelous which led to her having a year-long run in Japan as a member of Marvelous.<\/p>\n<p>Slamovich had some fantastic matches during this run in Japan, notably a tag team match against Nagayo and Marvelous ace\u00a0<strong>Takumi Iroha\u00a0<\/strong>that we <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/04\/10\/top-joshi-matches-2020\/\" target=\"_self\">heaped praise on<\/a>.\u00a0 Despite COVID-19 Slamovich got to wrestle for Marvelous,\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling WAVE<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Sendai Girls\u00a0<\/strong>during this run in Japan, even taking part in the Sendai Girls vs Marvelous feud that has been brewing in the lead up to GAEAISM and the Marvelous vs WAVE feud that took centre stage in the Summer of 2020.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u661f\u6708\u82bd\u4f9d vs \u30de\u30fc\u30b7\u30e3\uff65\u30b9\u30e9\u30e2\u30d3\u30c3\u30c1 2020\u5e748\u67082\u65e5(\u65e5)\u5bae\u57ce\u91ce\u533a\u6587\u5316\u30bb\u30f3\u30bf\u30fc\u5927\u4f1a\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k9EdolnczdM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>No matter who she wrestled or the company Masha Slamovich did not look out of place when wrestling some of the best women&#8217;s wrestlers that Japan has to offer.\u00a0 If anything, Slamovich improved more than she could have in the U.S. in 2020.\u00a0 When it was revealed that Slamovich would be returning to the U.S. many Joshi fans were upset to see someone who had fit into the scene so naturally depart, but they also knew that the independent wrestling scene was about to get a massive injection of talent.<\/p>\n<h2>Big Splash Upon Return<\/h2>\n<p>Ever since returning to the independent scene in January for\u00a0<strong>Camp Leapfrog\u00a0<\/strong>Slamovich has made an instant impact in the U.S. independent scene and become one of the top unsigned women in the whole country.\u00a0 She has immediately been put into big positions in <strong>Beyond Wrestling<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Global Syndicate Wrestling<\/strong>, <strong>New Texas Pro, <\/strong>and<strong> Mission Pro Wrestling<\/strong>. Her heel character is shining through with her underhanded tactics being followed up by impressive displays in the ring.\u00a0 Her recent match with\u00a0<strong>Deonna Purrazzo <\/strong>from Beyond Wrestling proved that Slamovich can more than hang with one of the undisputed best women&#8217;s wrestlers in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>In her short time on the indeed Masha Slamovich has become one of the best in the scene, with two tours of Japan already under her belt and an increasing amount of buzz it won&#8217;t be long before she is one of the top free agents in the United States, and possibly the world.<\/p>\n<p><em>Stay tuned to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/\" target=\"_self\">Last Word on Pro Wrestling<\/a>\u00a0for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
