At last night’s tapings in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling<\/strong>, Impact Global Champion Eli Drake<\/strong> announced during an in-ring segment that he was scheduled for a match in Detroit in December for Border City Wrestling (BCW)<\/strong>. Later in the segment, Alberto El Patron<\/strong> comes down to challenge Eli, before Johnny Impact<\/strong> (aka Johnny Mundo, aka John Morrison) comes down to say he’ll be in Detroit as well.<\/p>\n

On Sunday December 3rd, Windsor, Ontario, Canada’s BCW is throwing an event across the river in Belleville, Michigan (30 miles southwest of Detroit) called Motown Showdown<\/a>, headlined by Eli Drake, Johnny Impact and Alberto El Patron. Considering that Impact just aired several matches from BCW Excellence<\/strong><\/em> as part of their new format of international promotions featuring Impact stars – a Knockouts tag match between Sienna<\/strong> and KC Spinelli<\/strong> vs. Rosemary<\/strong> and Allie<\/strong>, Impact Tag Team Champions OvE (Dave & Jake Crist)<\/strong> vs. BCW Tag Team Champs Brent Banks & Phil Atlas<\/strong>, and an X-Division style 4-way between Petey Williams, Idris Ibrahim, NOAH<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Kaito Kiyomiya<\/strong> and BCW\/Smash<\/strong> regular Tarik<\/strong> – it’s safe to say that upcoming BCW events will be a part of the international flair of the new format for Impact Wrestling. Another match was taped at BCW Excellence<\/em>, when Eli Drake defended his Impact Global Championship against former Impact Wrestling star and Team Canada<\/strong> member A1<\/strong>, but it has yet to air. Oh yeah – BCW is owned by current Impact creative director and VP of International Relations Scott D’Amore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

No matches have been formally announced as of yet, but the poster advertises a few other BCW regulars who have appeared on Impact Wrestling and\/or Impact XPlosion<\/strong><\/em>, such as Idris Ibrahim,\u00a0Jon Bolen\u00a0<\/strong>and new Glory Pro<\/strong> Champion Jake Something<\/strong>.\u00a0There’s no other Impact names revealed as of yet, but there should be more announcements forthcoming now that the tapings are finishing up this weekend.<\/p>\n
