This news was made official during WWE&#8217;s first-quarter 2021 earnings call. Nick Khan, the President of WWE, revealed that a multi-episode WWE anime series will be airing on Crunchyroll&#8217;s streaming platform.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we continued to expand WWE&#8217;s brand beyond the ring, we remained focused on developing the slate of original programming from WWE Studios,&#8221; said Khan on the call. &#8220;We sold a multi-episode anime series to Crunchyroll, which is now owned by Sony.&#8221; No further news in terms of the partnership between WWE and Crunchyroll was revealed during the call.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Camp WWE - A Family McMahon sneak peek, on WWE Network\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ho7poLwo5DE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This wouldn&#8217;t be WWE&#8217;s first foray into the animated series market. Most recently, on the WWE Network, <strong>Camp WWE<\/strong> was released. From the mind of Seth Green, this 2016 animated series put many of the modern WWE stars, including <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/02\/23\/war-of-the-words-john-cena-roman-reigns\/\" target=\"_self\"><strong>John Cena<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Bray Wyatt<\/strong>, in the roles of summer camp kids while company alumni including <strong>Ric Flair<\/strong>, <strong>Sgt. Slaughter<\/strong>, and <strong>Vince McMahon<\/strong> were camp counselors and staff. Camp WWE ran for two seasons, consisting of five episodes each, on the WWE Network.<\/p>\n<p>Further details regarding the WWE anime series have yet to be revealed.
