Unfortunately, his 2nd reign as Champion lasted barely an hour, as he lost it in the main event when Pentagon Dark (now Penta El 0M on the indie circuit) defeated Puma in a Loser Leaves Town match after Pentagon cashed in his Gift of the Gods title for the championship match. It was no surprise, as Puma (Ricochet) was well documented as leaving Lucha Underground following the conclusion of the third Season. With Lucha Underground’s third season now complete, Ricochet is officially now arguably the hottest free agent on the independent circuit right now, with his 90-day no compete clause expiring on January 18, 2018.

#THANKYOUPUMA @KingRicochet pic.twitter.com/WWMnaA307r

— King Jamez 23 (@JGambine1134) October 19, 2017

The surprising World title victory occurred on Saturday at PWG‘s All Star Weekend 13 event, when he faced the newly crowned PWG World Heavyweight Champion Chuck Taylor in the main event. With internet buzz that Ricochet was headed to NXT in the near future, many speculated that Taylor would retain his title, with the match more of a send off for Ricochet from PWG, in a match against the man who trained him as a teenager.
