The National Wrestling Alliance makes a triumphant return to PPV this Sunday with Back for the Attack<\/em>, including a full card of the NWA’s best and brightest stars. After over a year of hiatus due to the pandemic, one of the longest lineaged promotions in wrestling looks to prove that it still has so much to give to the industry. The 10 Pounds of Gold will be on the line along with the rest of the historic promotion’s legendary titles. Plus, the debut of a former “Funkasauraus”, and a clash between two of wrestling’s toughest women with world title implications. Here is everything to see on this Sunday’s Back for the Attack <\/em>card, presented by the NWA.<\/p>\n

NWA Back for the Attack Card<\/strong><\/h2>\n

–\u00a0NWA World Heavyweight Championship\u00a0<\/strong>– Nick Aldis (c) versus Aron Stevens<\/p>\n

–\u00a0NWA Women’s #1 contenders match<\/strong> – Thunder Rosa versus Kamille<\/p>\n

–\u00a0NWA World Television Championship<\/strong> – Pope (c) versus Thom Latimer<\/p>\n

–\u00a0NWA National Heavyweight Championship<\/strong> – Trevor Murdoch versus Chris Adonis<\/p>\n

– Jax Dane versus Slice Boogie versus Jordan Clearwater versus Crimson<\/p>\n

NWA World Heavyweight Championship\u00a0– Nick Aldis (c) versus Aron Stevens<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Nick Aldis<\/strong> has been one of the most dominant champions in professional wrestling today, having held the NWA title for a historic 878 days and counting. This is the eighth longest reign in the title’s history and the longest in the last two decades. Even while the past year of his reign has been during the NWA’s shutdown, Aldis has certainly been a fighting champion, defending his championship against multiple opponents in UWN and Magnum Pro Wrestling, including against\u00a0Mike Bennett.\u00a0<\/strong>Aldis became even more dominant when he turned heel in late 2019 and created a faction with the Wild Cards (Thomas Latimer <\/strong>and\u00a0Royce Isaacs<\/strong>) and\u00a0Kamille. <\/strong>The combined unit ran roughshod over NWA Powerrr<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Aron Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>has been on the run of his career as well, though mostly as a comedy wrestler. He and the late-great Question Mark\u00a0<\/strong>(also known professionally as\u00a0Jocephus<\/strong><\/a>) were the highlights of\u00a0NWA Powerrr\u00a0<\/em>during its inception, bringing the “Mongrovian” style of “Ka-ra-te” to the promotion. Though the duo never won the NWA World Tag Team Championships together, their popularity led Stevens to win his first NWA National Championship in December of 2019. Stevens would then become one-half of the world tag team champions with JR Kratos\u00a0<\/strong>in October of last year. This champion versus champion clash is sure to be the biggest match in Stevens’ career, as he hopes to do his mongrovian brother proud and become the first-ever “3rd degree” NWA World Heavyweight Champion.<\/p>\n

The comedy character promises to show a more serious side of himself this Sunday, and hopes to honor his friend Jocephus in his victory.<\/p>\n
