{"id":83345,"date":"2021-01-21T10:40:32","date_gmt":"2021-01-21T15:40:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=83345"},"modified":"2021-01-21T10:44:44","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T15:44:44","slug":"nick-comoroto-aews-next-breakout-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/01\/21\/nick-comoroto-aews-next-breakout-star\/","title":{"rendered":"Nick Comoroto Is AEWs Next Breakout Star"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the January 20th, 2021 edition of AEW Dynamite <strong>Jon Moxley\u00a0<\/strong>wrestled Nick Comoroto.\u00a0 This was Comoroto&#8217;s Dynamite debut as he has been featured only on AEW Dark in recent months.\u00a0 Many fans were instantly drawn in by Moxley&#8217;s burley opponent who shrugged off some of the former champions shots, it was only with a sleeper hold that Moxley could put the big man down.\u00a0 This was Comoroto&#8217;s debut but he caught the eyes of fans and we believe he will be seen as AEW&#8217;s latest great discovery, after the additions of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/11\/15\/before-they-were-famous-wardlow\/\" target=\"_self\">Wardlow<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Powerhouse Hobbs\u00a0<\/strong>proved to be great signings.\u00a0 At 6 foot 3, 275 points, and with a background in collegiate wrestling Comoroto has all the tools to be a star.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/i\/status\/1349164839030185984<\/p>\n<h2>Who Is Nick Comoroto?<\/h2>\n<p>Comoroto is a 9-year veteran of the squared circle.\u00a0 He spent most of his early days competing for\u00a0<strong>Monster Factory Pro Wrestling<\/strong>, a wrestling school known for its high-quality alumni.\u00a0 Comoroto was relatively successful as he was a three-time tag team champion in MPFW and even held their world title, which he won in a match involving one <strong>Matt Riddle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Future of Honor: Nick Comoroto vs DeAndre Jackson\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dYZa1x9wdXA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 2017 Comoroto has his real breakout year as he competed in\u00a0<strong>Ring Of Honor\u00a0<\/strong>in some Future Of Honor matches, which included one dark match at the famous 2300 Arena.\u00a0 That year Comoroto also made his debut for\u00a0<strong>EVOLVE<\/strong>, he lost in two minutes, but as we know EVOLVE was a launchpad to WWE.\u00a0 And that is exactly where he went as Comoroto joined WWE in 2019.\u00a0 He competed in NXT as <strong>Nick Ogarelli<\/strong> on the live event loop, never making it to TV.<\/p>\n<p>Known as the &#8220;freakbeast&#8221; and sporting a look similar to the\u00a0<strong>Ultimate Warrior<\/strong>, colorful with boot tassels, he was put against other large competitors like\u00a0<strong>Babatunde\u00a0<\/strong>(Dabba-Kato),\u00a0<strong>Damien Priest<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Luke Menzies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>He even briefly formed a team with\u00a0<strong>Rik Bugez,\u00a0<\/strong>formerly known as Eric Bugenhagen. By this point, he had changed up his look a few times in an effort to find something that stuck.
