This show featured three title matches; in these title matches, both the All Asia Tag Team Championships and Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship would be retained. Before the main event, t<\/span>he GAORA TV Championship<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was on the line in the semi-final in a different type of match. By the end, Jun Kasai would be holding gold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Yoshitatsu<\/strong> has been the <\/span>GAORA TV Champion<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for <\/span>over 500+ days<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This is an example of All Japan&#8217;s attempt to build the mid-card division. With this reign, Yoshitatsu established himself by facing anyone that he could. This included outsiders of AJPW. This led to his encounter with Jun Kasai, famous for the deathmatch style in the promotion known as<strong> FREEDOMs<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of 2020, during a segment involving a <\/span>Yoshitatsu<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> promo. Jun Kasai would challenge him to a match. These two faced off in trios action on the final AJPW show of the calendar year, including coinciding with the AJPW retirement of <\/span><b>Yusuke Okada<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The ending saw Kasai pick up the victory. This is major as another long-lasting reign of All Japan has come to an end. At the time, Yoshitatsu was the longest-reigning champion in AJPW, with his reign ending being an upset to many of the fans. This would mark Kasai&#8217;s first championship within AJPW. After winning the championship, a new challenger appeared in the form of <\/span><b><i>Black Menso-Re. <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He will face off against Kasai in the near future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the second night of <em>New Year Wars<\/em>, a new challenger appeared for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship with <\/span><b>Shotaro Ashino<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This is likely to be a match at the upcoming <strong><em>Excite Series<\/em><\/strong> Tour with <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/01\/02\/match-point-yuma-aoyagi-suwama\/\" target=\"_self\"><strong>Suwama<\/strong><\/a>. A title match featuring <strong>Fumonri Abe<\/strong> taking on <strong>Koji Iwamoto<\/strong> may also in the near future.
