Perhaps that transition is coming sooner rather than later; Daniels and Kazarian have struggled to pick up wins this year and they now find themselves in an impossible position. In their quest to get back into the tag title picture, Daniels and Kazarian are now fighting for their tag team lives. If the duo loses another match, they’ll be forced to disband.

How long AEW plans to keep up this storyline remains to be seen but it seems likely SCU will have a small winning streak prior to their official end. If they don’t, however, it is worth noting the legacy Daniels and Kazarian leave behind. For much of their careers, be it as the Addiction in Ring of Honor, Bad Influence in TNA, or SCU in ROH and AEW, Daniels and Kazarian have been an all-time great tag team. They’ve won titles all over and while their AEW story may not end with claiming the gold one last time, these two have a significant resume as a duo. They’ll be missed as a team, whenever that end does come. Hopefully, it won’t be this week.

Fresh Faces and New Debuts on AEW DARK

This week’s AEW DARK will be highlighted by the largest group of debuting wrestlers for the company in quite some time.

James Tapia, a three year pro out of Minnesota, was last seen in the ring in 2019. That same year, he took part in a match on 205 Live. Tapia has wrestled just over 50 matches in his short career and on Tuesday night, he’ll be in six-man tag team action alongside Ryzin and Nick Comoroto.

New Jersey’s Royal Money is also wrestling in his first match this year, having last been in action in October 2019. A Monster Factory trainee, Royal Money will be making his DARK debut alongside Baron Black and cream cheese commercial star, Mike Verna.

Making their tag team debut is the duo of Ariel Levy and El Cuervo de Puerto Rico. Levy wrestles out of Chile where he is known for his time in Campeonato Nacional Lucha Libre. El Cuervo is a rising star in the lucha libre scene as well. He is perhaps best known for being the wrestler who was brutally attacked by a cinderblock two years ago. El Cuervo made his way back to the ring only for COVID to hit so he’s been limited in-ring action this year. He was a rising star before however and tonight will be his chance to get back on the map against Chaos Project.

Less is known about some of AEW’s other debutees this week including Tyson Maddux, Vertvixen and Jazmin Allure. It will be interesting to see them in action.

Stay tuned to Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
