{"id":81503,"date":"2020-12-27T08:53:18","date_gmt":"2020-12-27T13:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=81503"},"modified":"2020-12-27T08:53:18","modified_gmt":"2020-12-27T13:53:18","slug":"sakura-hirota-regina-di-wave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/12\/27\/sakura-hirota-regina-di-wave\/","title":{"rendered":"#AndNEW: Sakura Hirota Wins Regina Di WAVE Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pro Wrestling WAVE visited Korakuen Hall for their final big show of the year.\u00a0 This stacked show featured two title defences as well as a hardcore match between\u00a0<strong>DASH Chisako\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Yuki Miyazaki<\/strong>.\u00a0 In the main event\u00a0<strong>Nagisa Nozaki\u00a0<\/strong>defended the Regina Di WAVE Championship against\u00a0<strong>Sakura Hirota<\/strong>.\u00a0 Hirota won the match, ending Nozaki&#8217;s reign just two days short of the one-year mark.<\/p>\n<p>Hirota had to earn her title match by winning the NEXT tournament on a recent WAVE show.\u00a0 The one-day tournament had Hirota wrestle three times on one show first defeating\u00a0<strong>Rin Kadokura<\/strong> before beating\u00a0<strong>Ayame Sasamura\u00a0<\/strong>and DASH Chisako to become the number one contender.<\/p>\n<p>Debuting back in 1996 for\u00a0<strong>GAEA Japan\u00a0<\/strong>Hirota has mostly spent her career being seen as nothing more than a comedy wrestler who has occasionally won tag team gold.\u00a0 While Hirota is indeed one of the best comedy wrestlers of all time she is also a great worker, something she shows in glimpses during her comedy.\u00a0 Now, as the top champion of WAVE we will get to see how Hirota handles the responsibility of being in such a big spot.\u00a0 If we had to guess, she&#8217;ll kill it as she always does!\u00a0 The Regina Di WAVE title is about to be home to some incredibly entertaining title defenses with Hirota at the helm.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/\" target=\"_self\">Last Word on Pro Wrestling<\/a>\u00a0for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
