{"id":8101,"date":"2017-09-30T11:37:30","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T15:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/?p=8101"},"modified":"2023-03-27T14:18:50","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T18:18:50","slug":"former-wcpw-tag-champion-joins-wwe-performance-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2017\/09\/30\/former-wcpw-tag-champion-joins-wwe-performance-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Former WCPW Tag Champion Joins WWE Performance Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran English wrestler <strong>Johnny Moss<\/strong> has announced he is taking a job with the WWE Performance Center as a full-time trainer, effectively ending his 19-year wrestling career as an active wrestler to help work with Performance Center raw recruits as well as other talent in NXT, beginning in mid-October.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8105\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8105\" style=\"width: 476px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-8105\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"476\" height=\"476\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8105\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Johnny Moss School of Pro Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsandstar.co.uk\/news\/Moss-lands-dream-job-with-WWE-in-the-USA-a990be1d-21a1-43bf-b2d1-d75bf19dd7fb-ds\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">In an interview with The News &amp; Star<\/a> out of the UK, Moss said it was a &#8220;lifelong dream fulfilled&#8221;. \u201cI\u2019ll be allocated a class of men and women of different athletic background and different levels of experience,&#8221; Moss said in the interview. &#8220;I\u2019ll work with them daily to prepare them for a career in wrestling, teaching them the basics of everything that life in the ring entails.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read More:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2016\/08\/28\/wcpw\/\" target=\"_self\">WCPW: The Best Wrestling on a Monday Night (What?)<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Moss got his start in the late 90&#8217;s working with the <strong>NWA Hammerlock UK<\/strong> promotion and over the course of his nearly 20-year career has worked for the majority of the top UK indie promotions, including Scotland&#8217;s <strong>ICW<\/strong> and <strong>Scottish Wrestling Alliance (SWA)<\/strong>, plus <strong>IPW:UK, All-Star Wrestling (ASW), British Championship Wrestling (BCW),<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong> Preston City Wrestling (PCW)<\/strong>, as well as appearances for international promotions like Japan&#8217;s <strong>Pro Wrestling NOAH<\/strong> and <strong>CHIKARA<\/strong> and <strong>Impact Wrestling<\/strong> in the US. He also took part in last year&#8217;s revival of the legendary UK series <strong>World of Sport Wrestling<\/strong>. They held the titles for 74 days before losing to the <strong>Swords of Essex<\/strong> (<strong>Will Ospreay &amp; Scott Wainwright<\/strong>) earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"WCPW Loaded #17.4: Moss &amp; Slater vs. Strong Style Collective\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/za_PlTAUeK0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>With the appointment of Moss to the WWE Performance Center, he&#8217;s had to step down from his own wrestling school in the UK, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mosswrestlingschool.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Johnny Moss School of Pro Wrestling<\/a>, but one of his own trainers, Josh Terry, will be taking over the head trainer position. Johnny Moss has trained some of the UK&#8217;s best talent today, including WWE Superstar <strong>Finn Balor<\/strong> and NXT&#8217;s <strong>Killian Dain<\/strong> (formerly Big Damo) of SaNitY.
