{"id":79683,"date":"2020-11-28T06:02:46","date_gmt":"2020-11-28T11:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=79683"},"modified":"2020-11-28T06:02:46","modified_gmt":"2020-11-28T11:02:46","slug":"all-japan-pro-wrestling-evolution-girls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/11\/28\/all-japan-pro-wrestling-evolution-girls\/","title":{"rendered":"All Japan Pro Wrestling Launch Evolution Girls (Women&#8217;s Division)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Suwama\u00a0<\/strong>announced that All Japan Pro Wrestling is accepting applicants for Evolution Girls which will become the promotion&#8217;s women&#8217;s division.\u00a0 Rumours first began months ago that AJPW were looking into starting a women&#8217;s division and we now have confirmation that they will be training women to make up their own division, following\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling ZeroOne\u00a0<\/strong>who are<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/07\/11\/pro-wrestling-zero1-megumi-kudo\/\" target=\"_self\"> doing the same in 2021 <\/a>with\u00a0<strong>Megumi Kudo\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>Aja Kong <\/strong>leading that project.<\/p>\n<p>Suwama has already announced that he will be at the December 12th\u00a0<strong>Ice Ribbon\u00a0<\/strong>event and he has something to say to former Joshi Grand Prix award winner\u00a0<strong>Tsukasa Fujimoto<\/strong>.\u00a0 This has led to speculation that Ice Ribbon or Fujimoto will be involved with Evolution Girls in some way.\u00a0 It would be smart to get Fujimoto to train the women as the historical precedent in Joshi is that women train other women, and that has always kept Joshi unique and special.<\/p>\n<p>With\u00a0<strong>Stardom\u00a0<\/strong>on the road to a boom and a number of companies setting up women&#8217;s division the world of Joshi continues to expand, are we headed for a new period of success for Joshi wrestling or will the market become oversaturated?\u00a0 The question remains how this division will benefit AJPW which most observers can agree has needed some injection of excitement, whether Evolution Girls can provide that or not remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned to the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/\" target=\"_self\">\u00a0Last Word on Pro Wrestling\u00a0<\/a>for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
