The return of a champion will seemingly spark off a great beginning for the epic conclusion that will feature the biggest match the brand has to offer through its entire roster. Here’s the preview.

NXT Women’s Championship: Io Shirai (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

Credit: WWE

Here it is. The biggest match NXT has had since it’s arrival to the USA Network. And simply the biggest match the entire brand has to offer. Io Shirai will look to solidify herself as one of the greatest NXT Champions of all-time when she faces off with the former champion, Rhea Ripley, for the NXT Women’s Championship. Shirai has beat a who’s who while defending her championship, including Dakota Kai, Candice LeRae, and Tegan Nox. But to her and many others, she can’t call herself NXT’s greatest until she defeats “The Nightmare” in singles competition. For Ripley, this year has been one of great ups and downs. However, her past few months have seen her return to the prominence she held at the beginning of the year, and could be even better positioned for the championship than her first time.

Will Ripley join Shayna Baszler as the only other 2-time NXT Women’s Champion? Or will Shirai lock in her legacy next to the names of Asuka and Baszler in NXT history with a massive win? We luckily get to find out Wednesday night.

NXT Champion Finn Balor Returns, Will Address NXT Fans

Credit: WWE

F0r the first-time since NXT TakeOver: 31, Finn Balor will be in attendance for an NXT event. The NXT Champion has plenty of uncertainty following him, considering his jaw injury has kept him out for the past month. He should have some words for the fans and could paint a clearer picture of what the future holds for the NXT Championship.

Perhaps he won’t be the only one returning either, as the return of Karrion Kross and Scarlett draws closer.

North American Championship: Leon Ruff (c) vs. Johnny Gargano

Credit: WWE

Leon Ruff pulled the largest upset in the history of NXT last week when he defeated Johnny Gargano to become the North American Champion. Now the question to be asked is simple: Was it really a fluke? Or will Ruff be able to defend his championship successfully? We won’t have to wait too long, as Gargano gets his rematch this Wednesday night.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
