Earlier today, GCW hosted the tournament in question. This included four opening-round matches, two semifinal matches, and a final encounter between the two remaining men. These two kicked things off on a violent note, which would set the stage for the remainder of the event. It wasn’t long into the match until blood was shed. These men used every weapon they could and Louie himself wasn’t shy about utilizing a light tube. Warner and Colon clashed in a semifinals match that carried with it considerable experience. Warner fans are well-aware of his abilities as a brawler, but Colon has his own resume. Keep in mind that he is the only man to win the GCW Tournament of Survival twice, back to back in 2019 and 2020. Though Colon entered his match with deathmatch experience, not to mention gave Warner a hellacious battle, “Ol’ Mancer” was able to overcome him in this “Boards of F!#&ery” Deathmatch.

This led to the finals, which saw Warner battle MASADA in a ring surrounded by light tubes. This was known as the Taipei Deathmatch. Said light tubes would play into the result of this match, too. MASADA’s road to this point was tough as well, as he bested AJ Gray in the opening round before defeating Shane Mercer in the semifinals. MASADA was the first-ever Nick Gage Invitational winner, so him making it to the finals seemed apropos.

https://twitter.com/GifSkullIV/status/1325185324163592193?s=20

However, this match ended in concerning fashion. MASADA sent his own forearm through a light tube to strike Warner. However, it was MASADA that took the most punishment, as he began to bleed profusely from his arm. Ultimately, the referee called to end the match as MASADA was taken to the back for medical attention. This left Warner alone in the ring as the winner of the Nick Gage Invitational 5.

Before Mance Warner could gather his bearings from the three matches he wrestled on one show, Rickey Shane Page and the 44OH made their way down to the ring. Before they could cause much damage to Warner, Nick Gage rushed from the commentary desk to stand alongside the NGI5 winner. Soon, a challenge was laid out: Page, the reigning GCW World Champion, would put his title on the line against Warner at the next day’s event, So Much Fun.
