{"id":7821,"date":"2017-09-19T09:44:19","date_gmt":"2017-09-19T13:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/?p=7821"},"modified":"2017-10-02T21:19:51","modified_gmt":"2017-10-03T01:19:51","slug":"wcpw-loses-entire-management-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2017\/09\/19\/wcpw-loses-entire-management-team\/","title":{"rendered":"WCPW Loses Entire Management Team? *UPDATED*"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past year, <a href=\"http:\/\/whatculture.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>WhatCulture<\/strong><\/a>, the pop culture website, has not only created a successful UK promotion in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wc.pw\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WhatCulture Pro Wrestling <\/a>(WCPW)<\/strong>, but brought millions of eyes to the UK indie scene through their free programming on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCAl6NLC0tnubiCMzYXawG3g\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> (as well as Twitch). While many UK indie\u00a0purists in Great Britain have lauded WCPW for using their sizable finances to bring in huge international names to pad their rosters, there&#8217;s no denying that WCPW has played a huge part in helping expose many of the United Kingdom&#8217;s emerging talent, such as ICW&#8217;s<strong> Joe Hendry<\/strong> or English stars like <strong>Joseph Conners<\/strong>, <strong>Martin Kirby<\/strong> and <strong>El Ligero<\/strong>, to a wider international audience, as well as including the more well known names like <strong>Will Ospreay<\/strong> and <strong>Zack Sabre Jr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So it was a bit surprising when WhatCulture, WCPW&#8217;s parent company, released this statement this morning.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WhatCulture announces staff departures. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FRMauHon7t\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/FRMauHon7t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; WhatCulture (@whatculture) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/whatculture\/status\/910081043142725632?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">September 19, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>At first glance it may not mean much, but to WCPW fans, all of the names listed are integral parts of WCPW and WhatCulture&#8217;s wrestling content.<strong> Adam Blampied<\/strong> and <strong>Adam Pacitti<\/strong> have been the driving forces of WCPW, as both authority figures and backstage booking and planning. <strong>Ross Tweddell<\/strong> &#8211; best known as <strong>King Ross<\/strong> &#8211; is a huge part of WhatCulture&#8217;s wrestling programming, as the host of the popular <em><strong>WTF<\/strong><\/em> series.<strong> Sam Driver<\/strong> is WCPW&#8217;s video editor while <strong>Jack &#8220;The Jobber&#8221; King<\/strong> is another important member of the WCPW team. The departure was addressed further by WhatCulture&#8217;s wrestling department:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"zxx\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uLxrfWH6W9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/uLxrfWH6W9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; WhatCulture Wrestling (@WhatCultureWWE) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhatCultureWWE\/status\/910097494868201473?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">September 19, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This lead many to speculate that perhaps the team wasn&#8217;t <em>entirely<\/em> leaving WhatCulture and that perhaps the crew were instead now going to be working exclusively on WCPW as it&#8217;s success was clearly growing beyond what it was when it started out.
