The exact cause of death has not been revealed. Heenan was 73 years old.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/WWE\/status\/909558172951736320<\/p>\n<p>Raymond Louis Heenan was born November 1, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, but to the world he was known as Bobby, a career sports entertainer, from wrestler, to manager, to announcer. As a wrestler, he was known as &#8220;Pretty Boy&#8221; Bobby Heenan when he debuted in 1960. By 1967, he was both a wrestler and a manager, initially handling the tag team of <strong>Angelo Poffo<\/strong> (<strong>Randy Savage<\/strong> and<strong> Lanny Poffo<\/strong>&#8216;s father) and <strong>Chris Markoff<\/strong> in <strong>Dick The Bruiser<\/strong>&#8216;s promotion, <strong>World Wrestling Association (WWA).<\/strong> He would also manage the <strong>Blackjacks<\/strong> (Mulligan and Lanza) and the <strong>Valiant Brothers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7815\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/B3GsLNDIgAAJ22l.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/B3GsLNDIgAAJ22l.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/B3GsLNDIgAAJ22l-300x230.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/B3GsLNDIgAAJ22l-80x60.jpg 80w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/B3GsLNDIgAAJ22l-549x420.jpg 549w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 1974, he moved to the<strong> AWA<\/strong>, where he created his first variation of his stable, <strong>The Heenan Family<\/strong>, when he took on the managerial duties of <strong>Nick Bockwinkel<\/strong> and <strong>Ray &#8220;Crippler&#8221; Stevens<\/strong>, also adding <strong>Bobby Duncum<\/strong> and <strong>Blackjack Lanza<\/strong>. In 1975, he guided Nick Bockwinkel to his first AWA World title run and in 1979, his world champion Bockwinkel entered a feud with a young <strong>Hulk Hogan<\/strong>, setting up a lifelong feud against the Hulkster, in the AWA, WWF and WCW.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7816\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/AWABockHeenan2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"453\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/AWABockHeenan2.jpg 453w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/AWABockHeenan2-300x293.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/09\/AWABockHeenan2-429x420.jpg 429w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 453px) 100vw, 453px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 1983, Heenan was part of a large exodus of AWA talent to the WWF, as <strong>Vince McMahon Jr.<\/strong> began to take over the company from his ailing father, <strong>Vince McMahon Sr.<\/strong> Heenan was instantly pushed as the top heel manager of the company, with his new Heenan family constantly challenging Hulk Hogan for this WWF\u00a0World title. During his WWF career, his Family included <strong>Andre The Giant, Harley Race, Ric Flair,\u00a0The Brainbusters<\/strong> (<strong>Arn Anderson &amp; Tully Blanchard<\/strong>), <strong>&#8220;Ravishing&#8221; Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Lex Luger, Haku, King Kong Bundy<\/strong> and more. The iconic duo are often regarded by most as the best commentary duo of all time. He would hold that position until his retirement in 1993 and departure from the WWF. In 1994, he was talked out of retirement by <strong>WCW<\/strong> and returned as a commentator only.
