{"id":77535,"date":"2020-10-15T09:47:45","date_gmt":"2020-10-15T13:47:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=77535"},"modified":"2020-10-15T09:47:45","modified_gmt":"2020-10-15T13:47:45","slug":"karsten-beck-passes-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/10\/15\/karsten-beck-passes-away\/","title":{"rendered":"wXw Hall Of Famer Karsten Beck Passes Away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sad news for fans of German Wrestling was announced this morning when\u00a0<strong>Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw)\u00a0<\/strong>announced that hall of famer Karsten Beck has passed away after a battle with brain cancer.\u00a0 The news comes just one day after the news broke that <strong>Ryan Smile\u00a0<\/strong>had passed away making this a horrible 24 hours for many fans of European independent wrestling.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Karsten Pitann aka Karsten Beck has passed away this morning after battling brain cancer for years. We say farewell to a Hall of Famer wrestler, a Unified World Wrestling champion, a World Triangle League winner, our director of sports, our colleague, our companion, our friend. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/c0F2FjN2de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/c0F2FjN2de<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; wXw Germany (@wXwGermany) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wXwGermany\/status\/1316710344086167553?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">October 15, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Beck&#8217;s career lasted roughly ten years and in that time he accomplished a lot.\u00a0 He won a number of championships for Wrestlingcorner and\u00a0<strong>Swiss Championship Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>among others but it was in wXw that he had the best run of his career.\u00a0 In 2014 he won the World Triangle League besting some of the best performers from all over the world.\u00a0 This provided him the stepping stone to win the richest prize in wXw as he captured the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship in January 2015, he had two reigns with the championship totaling 419 days before he wrestled his final match in July 2016.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Die Sensation: Karsten Beck kommt zur\u00fcck!\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/m5Y8BZbG0h4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While Karsten Beck never wrestled again he remained a presence in wXw be it backstage or occasionally onscreen.\u00a0 He will be missed by everyone in the wXw family and we send our best wishes to his friends, family, and colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheJonGresham\/status\/1316735389001023491<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We always asked him for feedbacks and ideas since he got a different vision about wrestling.
