Will Be The Legacy Of Each Of The Four Horsewomen

Ever since WWE decided to get behind the Women’s Evolution there has been one constant of the division, the prominence and importance of the Four Horsewomen (Becky Lynch, Bayley, Sasha Banks & Charlotte Flair) while it can be argued that they are over-pushed to an extent it doesn’t change the fact that history will look back on these four women as incredibly important parts of WWE history. We got to wondering what will be the lasting legacy for each woman? While as a unit they will, of course, be remembered as trailblazers but what will each woman’s claim to prominence be? We have some ideas so let’s dive in and discuss.

The Individual Legacies Of The Four Horsewomen

Charlotte Flair

Photo: WWE

Charlotte Flair will always be remembered as the golden child, the chosen one. She was the one woman chosen to carry the torch and represent the new era of women’s wrestlers. She has spent almost her entire run in WWE atop the women’s division be it on Raw or SmackDown and will no doubt come close to matching her father’s record of 16 world championship wins. When all is said and done Flair will be remembered as the woman that proved women can carry a torch just as well as the men in the company.

Bayley

Photo: WWE

Bayley is a tough one to pin a legacy to. Some would say she will go down in history as the most underrated member of the Four Horsewomen, others will say she was the most consistent. But we think Bayley’s legacy will spring from her days in NXT. At her peak, Bayley was possibly the ace of NXT, while Finn Balor held things down on the men’s side Bayley’s reactions would often equal or even beat out Balor’s and her ability to sell purple, smiley, hug-based merch to fans both male and female spoke to her wide appeal. It’s for this reason that we believe Bayley will be remembered as the woman that proved that a woman can be just as over as a man, and that they too can be the ace of your brand even if it’s at its most popular. While the years after her NXT run have maybe clouded some people’s judgement of Bayley the fact remains that at her peak she was one of the most popular members of the roster.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1251954727773929474

Sasha Banks

Photo: WWE

Sasha Banks will without a shadow of a doubt be remembered for revolutionising what women can do in a WWE ring. Her fearless in-ring style and desire to prove that she can do anything the boys can do has led to her having some of the best matches in recent WWE history. When all is said and done she will be remembered as the best worker of the bunch and a woman that really opened the eyes of a lot of fans to just how good a women’s wrestler can be when the chains are finally taken off.

Becky Lynch

Photo: WWE

What is there to say about Becky Lynch other than she took the ball and ran with it more than any woman in WWE history. She proved that a woman could create the magical moments WWE is built on, she proved that a woman could be not only the face of a brand but of the whole company. Be it her invasion of RAW that many remember to this day, the pop she got at the Royal Rumble, or the image of her standing with two titles held aloft to close WrestleMania she created moments that fans will remember forever and etched her place in history as the biggest women’s star the WWE ever created. While her run as “The Man” was short, she accomplished so much. She was on the cover of a WWE 2K game (the first woman to do so), she was heavily featured in advertising the product, she was allowed to stand shoulder to shoulder with John Cena and The Rock, one of which is the highest viewed WWE segment in many years. History will look back fondly at Becky Lynch, and rightfully so, the charismatic Irishwoman changed the game and removed any doubts that a woman can be just as big a star as any man.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="Becky Lynch takes Lana's place in the
