It proved to be an enjoyable conclusion to an eventful season, too. The second season of ChocoPro saw everything from the musical stylings of Mei Suruga to engaging stories involving Yuna Mizumori, Mitsuru Konno, and other Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling stars. Though ChocoPro took a short break to prepare for season three, it looks like there will be plenty to enjoy early on.

Mei Suruga vs. Makoto (ChocoPro Debut)

To say that Mei Suruga has brought life to ChocoPro would be an understatement. From her matches to her musical renditions of popular wrestling entrance themes, the “Apple Devil” of Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling has been an endless source of entertainment. She was also quite successful in season two, often teaming with fellow Best Bro Baliyan Akki to pick up tag team victories. With Akki currently inactive to heal, Suruga will enter the third season of ChocoPro solo. She will also have a sizable challenge ahead of her.

https://twitter.com/ProWrestlingIs4/status/1288578663848521731?s=20

Making her ChocoPro debut on episode thirty-seven is the joshi star simply known as Makoto. Fans of Ice Ribbon and SEAdLINNNG will be familiar with her work. The “Oriental Doll,” as she is known, is currently a member of the stable Las Fresa de Egoistas. The stable in question also includes ASUKA and former Beyond the Sea Champion Arisa Nakajima. Makoto is no stranger to success, as she is a former REINA World Women’s Champion and one half of the current Daily Sports Tag Team Champions, just to name a few accolades.

It’s important to note that this match won’t be Makoto’s first in Gatoh Move. In fact, her last match in the promotion took place this past March, when she teamed with Chie Koishikawa and Kuishinbo Kamen to defeat the trio of Lulu Pencil, Antonio Honda, and Ryo Mizunami. Makoto will be making her first ChocoPro appearance in a major way as she takes on Suruga. This will be a debut not to miss.

Pencil Army (Emi Sakura and Lulu Pencil) vs. Tokiko Kirihara

During the season two finale of ChocoPro, Pencil Army members collided. Lulu Pencil gave her all against Emi Sakura, who served as a mentor in numerous ways. Despite the best efforts of Gatoh Move’s freelance writer, it would be the promotion’s owner that picked up the win. Now that Pencil Army is back on the same page, they will enter this new season of ChocoPro as a duo. In fact, the matches that she had in prior episodes ended in chaotic fashion. The one known as “Otoki-san” would lose one match after another, only to snap and attack anyone in close proximity. Akki often got the worst of it, as he found himself monkey flipped against the wall time after time. It would seem that the only way Kirihara’s demeanor may improve is with a victory. In this handicap match, such a feat may be easier said than done.

Despite her less than stellar win-loss record, Kirihara remains a formidable wrestler. In fact, it has been through ChocoPro that she came into her own, adopting “The Twist” as a signature trait. Dubbed the “Super Rookie” of Gatoh Move, Kirihara will have plenty to prove heading into the season three premiere of ChocoPro. If she can take down an army on her own, she will start the season on a high note.

Mitsuru Konno vs. Mystery Opponent

For ChocoPro viewers that are active on Twitter, Gatoh Move recently ran polls for various season two categories. Among these was for MVP, which is given to the best-performing star overall. This was awarded to Yuna Mizumori in season one. For season two, the accolade would go to Mitsuru Konno, the resident beer-lover of Gatoh Move. Anyone that has kept up with ChocoPro may agree that this was a well-earned accolade.

ChocoPro Season 2 Awards!!
1. From Suruga to Mizumori to Akki, Konno showed great flexibility, technical prowess, and intensity alike. She also picked up a few victories in the post-show janken tournament, which boosted her confidence that much more. However, she will approach the season three premiere with a sense of mystery in the air. Simply put, she won’t know her opponent until the show takes place.

This might be the biggest hook heading into season three of ChocoPro. Gatoh Move is no stranger to utilizing mystery opponents. Last month, they brought in Trans Am Hiroshi, the yoga enthusiast from Pro Wrestling BASARA, as a surprise competitor. Will Gatoh Move bring in another star of a different promotion? Will they bring in a Gatoh Move rookie that hasn’t been seen in months? Regardless, this may be a match that helps Konno win the ChocoPro MVP award for a second season in a row.

ChocoPro #37 will air on August 5th at 8 PM JST (7 AM EST and 9 PM CST.)

It will air live on the Gatoh Move YouTube channel for free before being available for on-demand viewing afterward.
