While no date was given, it just ended with &#8220;Coming Soon&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A special look at Mercedes Martinez: WWE NXT, June 17, 2020\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hlHAbwET5tc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Mercedes Martinez is a 19-year veteran who first broke into the business in late 2000 with the likes of <strong>New England Championship Wrestling (NECW)<\/strong> and the Wild Samoan&#8217;s <strong>World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW)<\/strong>, before exploding into an absolute pioneer of women&#8217;s indie wrestling. She made her <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong> debut in 2005, followed by <strong>Women&#8217;s Superstars Uncensored (WSU)<\/strong> in 2007, <strong>Stardom<\/strong> in Japan in 2011, and <strong>Shine Wrestling<\/strong> in 2012 amongst others, becoming 2x SHIMMER Champion, Shine Champion, 3x WSU World Champion, 4x WXW Women&#8217;s Champion, Phoenix of <strong>RISE<\/strong> Champion, and <strong>Bellatrix<\/strong> World Champion in the UK.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SHIMMER Women&#039;s Wrestling - Mercedes Martinez vs. Sara Del Rey (SHIMMER Vol. 1 on Nov. 6, 2005)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ws1DjKOGEvs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She finally made her debut with the WWE in 2017 as part of the first <strong>Mae Young Classic<\/strong>, defeating <strong>Xia Li, Abbey Laith<\/strong> (IMPACT&#8217;s <strong>Kimber Lee<\/strong>), and Mexico&#8217;s <strong>Princess Sugehit<\/strong>, before losing to <strong>Shayna Baszler<\/strong> in the semi-finals. She returned for the second MYC in 2018, knocking out 5x IMPACT Knockouts Champion <strong>Madison Rayne<\/strong> in the first round, before succumbing to <strong>Meiko Satomura<\/strong> in one of the year&#8217;s best matches. In late 2019, she appeared twice for <strong>All Elite Wrestling (AEW)<\/strong>, including in the Casino Battle Royale at <em><strong>AEW All Out<\/strong><\/em>, but <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2020\/01\/14\/mercedes-martinez-jake-atlas-headline-january-20-pc-class\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed with WWE<\/a> as part of the January 2020 class of new recruits. She made a big splash out the gate, appearing in the Women&#8217;s Royal Rumble her first month, before hitting NXT Live Events, picking up a big win over Kacy Catanzaro in early February, but has been off since the pandemic reduced rosters.
