This match is more to get these talented women on the card and that’s all it needs to be. They will deliver a quality match and more likely than not get the momentum going for the show. All of that being said, I expect LeRae, Kai, and Gonzalez to pick up the win here. This match fathers two separate storylines as Kai and Nox remain inseparable while Yim and LeRae battle it out once more.

NXT North American Championship: Keith Lee (c) vs Johnny Gargano

Johnny Gargano looks to continue his crusade of cleaning the “toxic wasteland” that NXT has become. His first target is NXT North American Champion “The Moment Maker” Keith Lee. This one will probably be the match of the night as even though he turned his back on the fans, Gargano is very much still “Johnny Takeover” and will deliver another solid performance. Expect Lee to continue his reign, unless the plan is to have him dethrone Adam Cole should he retain.

Finn Balor vs Damian Priest

“The Prince” Finn Balor looks to make “The Archer of Infamy” Damian Priest pay for blindsiding him weeks ago. This is not the first time Priest has used such tactics to get someone’s attention, but it has woken something up in the Irishman. This one is a toss-up as both men need a win to move up the ladder, I think Balor will emerge victoriously.

Tommaso Ciampa vs Karrion Kross

After absolutely brutal assaults, Tommaso Ciampa looks to gain a measure of revenge against Karrion Kross. The former NXT Champion appears to be at a crossroads in his journey. Kross, on the other hand, looks like a monster from my childhood nightmares. This match could be Ciampa’s last stand and if it is, he’s not going down without a fight. Kross will most likely pick up the win, the question seems to be how dominant will he look in his first Takeover appearance.

NXT Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair (c) vs Rhea Ripley vs Io Shirai

Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley, and Io Shirai is the match of the night candidate. Flair has been making her presence felt across every brand and seems primed to make a move any day. Ripley was riding a wave of momentum before it was undercut by dropping the belt to Flair, she has proven she can carry the women’s division. Shirai can’t be counted out as the dark horse as a legitimate threat to whoever holds the gold. In Your House might be when Shirai finally gets her time to shine as she is only the competitor yet to hold NXT gold.

NXT Championship: Backlot Brawl – Adam Cole (c) vs Velveteen Dream

Longest reigning NXT Champion Adam Cole looks to keep making history and put an end to Velveteen Drea in a Backlot Brawl. These two have met in the past, however, the stakes have been raised for this Takeover main event. If the enigmatic Velveteen Dream loses he cannot challenge for the NXT Championship as long as Cole holds the belt. This is truly the most difficult match-up to call as either man could easily find themselves on the main roster. With the monstrous Karrion Kross waiting in the wings, Dream might just have the edge. No matter who emerges victorious, this match will without a doubt give us a look at what’s to come for the black and gold brand.

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
