Over the past week, Gulak&#8217;s profile was returned to SmackDown&#8217;s roster quietly and both <a href=\"https:\/\/pwinsider.com\/article\/136702\/drew-gulak-update-jarrett-on-wwe-backstage-more-updated.html?p=1\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mike Johnson<\/strong> of <strong>PWInsider<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f4wonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Dave Meltzer<\/strong> of <strong>Wrestling Observer<\/strong><\/a> have reported that Gulak has indeed signed a new multi-year deal with WWE, while <strong>Fightful<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Sean Ross Sapp<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fightful.com\/wrestling\/report-drew-gulak-s-new-contract-multi-year-deal\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported on Thursday<\/a> on Fightful Select that Gulak returned to the company this past week where he took part in tapings for <em>SmackDown<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak \u2013 Intercontinental Championship Tournament: SmackDown, May 15, 2020\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jsalDhbNz4g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Drew Gulak&#8217;s last televised appearance for WWE was on May 15 on\u00a0<em>SmackDown\u00a0<\/em>where he lost to his pupil,\u00a0<strong>Daniel Bryan<\/strong>, in the opening round of the tournament to crown a new Intercontinental Champion following WWE&#8217;s decision to strip the title from <strong>Sami Zayn<\/strong>. Gulak&#8217;s contract expired at midnight that night.
