{"id":68953,"date":"2020-05-20T04:52:22","date_gmt":"2020-05-20T08:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/?p=68953"},"modified":"2020-05-20T04:52:22","modified_gmt":"2020-05-20T08:52:22","slug":"arisa-hoshiki-retires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/05\/20\/arisa-hoshiki-retires\/","title":{"rendered":"Arisa Hoshiki Retires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been announced that due to head and neck injuries the Wonder Of Stardom Champion Arisa Hoshiki has retired from professional wrestling.\u00a0 The Wonder Of Stardom championship has been vacated.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We are saddened to report that due to neck and head injuries, Arisa Hoshiki has officially retired.<\/p>\n<p>The Wonder of Stardom title has been returned to Stardom.<\/p>\n<p>We wish Arisa the very best in her future!<br \/>Thank you for your continued support of Stardom. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Gvx3pL1FyJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/Gvx3pL1FyJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; We Are Stardom (@we_are_stardom) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/we_are_stardom\/status\/1263025311232319490?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">May 20, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This is the latest in a string of retirements for Stardom which has seen them lose top names like <strong>Hazuki, Kagetsu,\u00a0<\/strong>and now Hoshiki in a matter of months.\u00a0 This is the second time Hoshiki has left the wrestling business as her initial tenure with Stardom lasted roughly one year as she left in 2012 following her debut in 2011<\/p>\n<p>She returned in 2018 and after knocking off the ring rust became one of the most exciting performers on the Stardom roster thanks to her stiff strikes and consistent experimenting with new techniques that led to her having the best arsenal in Stardom.\u00a0 She won the Cinderella Tournament in 2019 and went on to end\u00a0<strong>Momo Watanabe&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>historic and record-breaking Wonder Of Stardom title reign to establish herself as one of Stardom&#8217;s best.\u00a0 Her matches were always the highlight of Stardom&#8217;s Korakuen Hall shows and she was one of our favorites<\/p>\n<p>Despite her relatively short career Hoshiki always showed the potential to be a top star in wrestling even in her earlier days.\u00a0 Her in-ring work mixed with a goofy charisma and a tendency to become a cocky menace in the ring came together to make a fantastic performer.
