WWE NXT<\/strong> returns with yet another exciting episode of its weekly broadcast.\u00a0 With only two segments announced so far, this preview will be updated as more is announced.\u00a0 So far we have the continuation of the Cruiserweight Tournament and a mega women’s main event.\u00a0 As has been the case for a while now, this will be another behind-closed-doors edition of NXT.\u00a0 No crowds, just wrestling.\u00a0 Without further ado, let’s dive right in!<\/p>\n

Crunch Time In The Cruiserweight Tournament\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We have two big cruiserweight matches to look forward to.\u00a0 Drake Maverick<\/strong>‘s (1-1) story has been one of the driving-forces behind the success of this tournament.\u00a0 Released from the WWE during “Black Wednesday”<\/a> last month, he has been on a mission to prove himself worthy of staying during this tournament.\u00a0 Though losing to Jake Atlas<\/strong> in the opener, he has since defeated Tony Nese<\/strong>.\u00a0 In KUSHIDA<\/strong> (2-0) he is facing someone who not only defeated Tony Nese, but Jake Atlas too.\u00a0 KUSHIDA will no doubt be Maverick’s biggest challenge yet.\u00a0 Akira Tozawa<\/strong> (2-0) has been on a roll.\u00a0 A cruiserweight division original, he has defeated Isaiah Scott<\/strong> and Jack Gallagher<\/strong> – whilst being used on RAW as enhancement talent.\u00a0 His opponent is the mysterious El Hijo del Fantasma<\/strong> (1-1), who has twice fought off the parking lot’s masked men.\u00a0 We don’t know much about the former King Cuerno<\/strong>, but we know not all is what it appear.\u00a0 Tune-in to NXT to find out more!<\/p>\n

Io Shirai vs Rhea Ripley<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rhea Ripley<\/strong> has returned to NXT to claim what she lost to Charlotte Flair<\/strong> at WrestleMania XXXVI<\/strong><\/em>; her NXT Women’s Championship.\u00a0 Since losing her championship, Charlotte has been appearing on SmackDown, indicating that she has hijacked the title from NXT.\u00a0 Ripley is a long-time NXT performer and will no doubt want to return the title to its rightful home.\u00a0 Standing in her way, however, is arguably the best women’s wrestler in the world in Io Shirai<\/strong>.\u00a0 She never lost her title match against Charlotte last month, with the match ending in disqualification.\u00a0 She must win here to ensure that she remains in the title picture and isn’t forgotten about with Ripley’s return.\u00a0 A triple threat is the best concluding scenario in this feud, so let’s hope that’s what we get.\u00a0 Tune-in this Wednesday to WWE NXT on USA Network at 8PM EST.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
