Stylistically, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChrisHero\/status\/1252405485136867329\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">it was very similar to the video<\/a> that her real-life significant other <strong>Kassius Ohno<\/strong> was released and returned as <strong>Chris Hero<\/strong>. With WWE reportedly relaxing their stance about requested releases, Ellering could very well have asked for her release and not necessarily been an expected WWE release.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/RachaelEversWWE\/status\/1260707246239027201<\/p>\n<p>After years on the indies, the second-generation wrestler and daughter of WWE Hall of Famer &#8220;Precious&#8221; <strong>Paul Ellering<\/strong>, Rachael Ellering finally signed with WWE as part of their January 2019 Class at the WWE Performance Center. But much like another recent release, <strong>Deonna Purrazzo<\/strong>, Ellering &#8211; rebranded as Rachel Evers &#8211; was used more on TV in her pre-signing enhancement days than while under contract.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sonya Deville vs. Rachel Evers: WWE NXT, June 21, 2017\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mvPyVPeurZc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 2015, she trained with <strong>Lance Strom<\/strong> at his <strong>Storm Wrestling Academy<\/strong> in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, making her start in the Western Canadian indie scene with Edmonton&#8217;s <strong>Prairie Wrestling Alliance (PWA)<\/strong>. The following year she began working for <strong>Shine Wrestling<\/strong> and <strong>Queens of Combat (QOC)<\/strong>, as well as <strong>WrestleCircus, IWA Mid South<\/strong>, and a dark match with <strong>Ring of Honor<\/strong>. She also made three appearances on NXT in 2016, in losses to <strong>Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan<\/strong>, and <strong>Ember Moon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MeONQVmk9iQ<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, she expanded even further nationally, adding the likes of <strong>SHIMMER, AAW Pro, RISE Wrestling, Wrestling Revolver<\/strong>, and more in the US indies, as well as competing twice with <strong>IMPACT Wrestling<\/strong> in matches against <strong>Sienna<\/strong> (Allysin Kay) and <strong>Laurel Van Ness<\/strong> (Chelsea Green). She also competed in the inaugural <em><strong>WWE Mae Young Classic<\/strong><\/em>, defeating <strong>Marti Belle<\/strong> in the first round before bowing out to <strong>Abbey Laith<\/strong> (now <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2020\/05\/12\/get-to-know-kimber-lee\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IMPACT&#8217;s Kimber Lee<\/a>) in the second. She had two tours of Stardom, the winter of 2017\/2018 and then again that summer, competing in the 2018 <em><strong>Stardom 5*STAR Grand Prix<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0She competed in the second annual\u00a0<em>Mae Young Classic\u00a0<\/em>that year as well but lost in the opening round to <em>joshi\u00a0<\/em>star <strong>Hiroyo Matsumoto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jordynne Grace vs Rachael Ellering - Battle Club Pro\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dpCukZntPeo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After joining WWE in January of 2019, she began working the NXT Live Event circuits in March of that year, and by July was working alongside Deonna Purrazzo and <strong>Chelsea Green<\/strong>, in <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/07\/28\/vxt-nxt\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a new unit called <strong>VXT<\/strong><\/a>. But just days after the group&#8217;s debut on the Live Events, Rachael Ellering was injured, tearing her MCL.
