{"id":66969,"date":"2020-04-16T11:31:41","date_gmt":"2020-04-16T15:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/?p=66969"},"modified":"2020-04-16T11:32:17","modified_gmt":"2020-04-16T15:32:17","slug":"ring-of-honor-pays-participants-cancelled-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/04\/16\/ring-of-honor-pays-participants-cancelled-tournament\/","title":{"rendered":"Ring Of Honor Pays Participants Of Cancelled Quest For Gold Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a tough time to be a professional wrestling fan with most company&#8217;s not allowed to run shows and a lot of performers unable to make a living but amongst all of the bad there will always be good.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Katarina,<\/strong> who was supposed to take part in ROH&#8217;s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2020\/02\/12\/roh-to-crown-new-roh-world-womens-champion\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quest For Gold<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>tournament, put out a tweet stating that she had been paid by Ring Of Honor despite the tournament not going ahead and despite Katarina having no contract with the company.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8230;on a related note I would like to express gratitude for having just received a check for a show that is not taking place from a company I don\u2019t have a contract with- but was looking forward to finally working with&#8230; namely <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ringofhonor?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@ringofhonor<\/a> with a thoughtful and classy move. \ud83d\udc9c<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; katarina \ud83d\ude08\ud83d\udc9c (@katarinasinfamy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/katarinasinfamy\/status\/1250527658263195650?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">April 15, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Tweets from other talents\u00a0<strong>Miranda Alize<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Alex<\/strong> <strong>Gracia<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Heather Monroe<\/strong>, all of whom were set to take part in Quest For Gold, indicate that they too were paid by Ring Of Honor despite none being contracted to the company.\u00a0 This is an incredibly generous gesture by ROH that we feel deserved to be spotlighted.\u00a0 Yes, other companies like <strong>IMPACT! Wrestling <\/strong>and <strong>All Elite Wrestling <\/strong>are of course paying their talent but for ROH to pay people not contracted to them for a show that was canceled is a fantastic move by the company that deserves to be applauded.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Yes, this!
