Star Gazing<\/span><\/em><\/a>\u00a0is our series which will add to our already growing coverage of\u00a0<\/span><\/em>World Wonder Ring Stardom\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/a>(Also known simply as Stardom) and the Joshi scene where we will get you up to speed with members of the Stardom roster. This edition will be focusing on the new leader of Oedo Tai Natsuko Tora<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Since Making her debut in 2016 Natsuko Tora has had a fast rise through Stardom and now finds herself as the leader of Oedo Tai.\u00a0 From her days in the popular Jungle Assault Nation (JAN) to now she has grown as a performer to be one of Stardom’s biggest and baddest.<\/p>\n

Debut & Stardom Army<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As can be seen from the photo above Natsuko Tora was a very different competitor when she debuted.\u00a0 She was far from the tough brawler we see today.\u00a0 Her actual debut was\u00a0Stardom October Showdown\u00a0<\/em>where she teamed with\u00a0Arisu Nanase\u00a0<\/strong>in a losing effort against\u00a0Azumi\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Kaori Yoneyama<\/strong>, Yoneyama would become a big part of Tora’s career later on. Tora was mostly a part of the Stardom Army, a mishmash of babyfaces, and didn’t have much success in her early years.<\/p>\n

Jungle Assault Nation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"Jungle<\/p>\n

Tora’s fortunes changed when Team Jungle, later JAN, came along.\u00a0 Team Jungle was an unofficial group within the Stardom Army that allowed Tora to team with Kaori Yoneyama and Jungle Kyona more often.\u00a0 With\u00a0Hiroyo Matsumoto\u00a0<\/strong>at the helm, the group was made up of power wrestlers who were different from the rest of the Stardom roster.\u00a0 Team Jungle would later become JAN when Team Jungle went undrafted in the first-ever Stardom draft.\u00a0 With the goal of proving everyone wrong in mind Yoneyama and Kyona became the elders of the group filled with rookies and helped Tora become the Natsuko we know and love today.\u00a0 Tora became the 2nd in command and was thrust into big matches with the ever-reliant Kyona there to guide her if needs be.\u00a0 Her time in JAN allowed Tora to become a better performer as there are no better teachers for a power style of wrestling than Yoneyama and Kyona.\u00a0 She also tasted her first but of success when she won the Artist Of Stardom and the Goddesses Of Stardom championships while in JAN.<\/p>\n

JAN’s Demise<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All was not well in Jungle Assault Nation.\u00a0 Natsuko Tora seemed to be growing more and more agitated by her faction mates culminating in her and Jungle Kyona wrestling to a time limit draw in December 2018.\u00a0 JAN would be no more just months later when Jungle Kyona finished last in a five-way to decide draft order.\u00a0 Natsuko Tora was drafted to Oedo Tai where the attitude she had begun showing could be fully embraced and Tora’s relationship with Kyona has never recovered.\u00a0 Tora debuted a new look and became the badass bruiser many had hoped she would become in the dying days of JAN.\u00a0 Unfortunately, Tora went from being at the top of JAN to being the pin taker for Oedo Tai and became anonymous by the end of the year.<\/p>\n
