The coronavirus pandemic has already been the cause of major problems for professional wrestling, namely<\/a> WrestleMania 36<\/strong><\/em> and the week of festivities leading up to it. Several shows have been cancelled<\/a> between now and then, including westside Xtreme wrestling<\/strong>‘s (wXw<\/strong>) WrestleMania<\/em> weekend show, titled 16 Carat Revenge<\/strong><\/em>, and Over The Top Wrestling<\/strong>‘s (OTT<\/strong>) Scrappermania 6<\/strong><\/em> this weekend, while this week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown<\/em><\/strong> will be moved<\/a> to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida – only ‘essential personnel’ will be required.<\/p>\n

In Scotland, the situation is being monitored, with a coronavirus peak not currently expected until May\/June time. Despite that, some promotions have still been keeping fans updated with their upcoming events;<\/p>\n

Pro Wrestling Innovation (PWI)<\/strong><\/a> have postponed their Moffat Mania<\/strong> <\/em>show, which was set for Friday, March 27th at the Moffat Town Hall. The show has been pushed back to August in an attempt to prevent the spread of the deadly disease, a decision not taken lightly by promoter Krieger<\/strong>. As a wonderful gesture though, ‘Scudmaster Sexy’ has confirmed all booked talent will still receive their wage to ensure they don’t miss out on a pay day from the postponed booking.<\/p>\n

WrestleZone (WZ)<\/strong> have announced that the 2020 Regal Rumble<\/strong><\/em>, scheduled for Saturday, March 21st at the Torry St. Fittick’s Church Hall in Aberdeen, is currently set to go on as planned, as are all their other upcoming shows as they head towards Aberdeen Anarchy<\/strong><\/em> on May 15th and 16th. However, to help prevent the disease being spread throughout the community, they have kindly asked fans, wrestlers, and everyone else in attendance at the shows to refrain from high fives, handshakes, etc.<\/p>\n
