{"id":63848,"date":"2020-02-29T08:50:17","date_gmt":"2020-02-29T13:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/?p=63848"},"modified":"2020-02-29T08:51:02","modified_gmt":"2020-02-29T13:51:02","slug":"wrestle-1-hiatus-terminate-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/02\/29\/wrestle-1-hiatus-terminate-contracts\/","title":{"rendered":"Wrestle-1 To Go On Indefinite Hiatus, Will Terminate All Contracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Japanese promotion Wrestle-1 became the talk of wrestling when it was announced that the almost seven-year-old promotion would be going on an indefinite hiatus following their April 1st event at Korakuen Hall.\u00a0 The news was announced at a Press Conference being held by <strong>Keiji Mutoh\u00a0<\/strong>(The Great Muta) and <strong>Kaz Hayashi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>They also announced that they will terminate all W-1 contracts the day before the show meaning the entire roster are now free agents and are eligible to be signed elsewhere.\u00a0 Talents like\u00a0<strong>Shotaro Ashino<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Daiki Inaba <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Reika Saiki\u00a0<\/strong>are sure to be snapped up by other promotions.<\/p>\n<p>The reason cited for the hiatus is that Wrestle-1 has never gotten &#8220;out of the red&#8221; meaning it has failed to become profitable.\u00a0 The promotion in its early days was bringing in big crowds and had young stars like <strong>Seiya Sanada<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>as well as a working agreement with\u00a0<strong>IMPACT!
