{"id":63742,"date":"2020-02-28T10:28:35","date_gmt":"2020-02-28T15:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/?p=63742"},"modified":"2020-02-28T10:28:35","modified_gmt":"2020-02-28T15:28:35","slug":"for-the-culture-reveals-first-3-matches-for-wrestlemaniaweek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2020\/02\/28\/for-the-culture-reveals-first-3-matches-for-wrestlemaniaweek\/","title":{"rendered":"For The Culture Reveals First 3 Matches for #WrestleManiaWeek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ever since <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/07\/16\/indie-watch-rich-homie-juice-aj-gray\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">US indie breakout wrestler<strong> AJ Gray<\/strong> <\/a>announced he was hosting an event over WrestleMania Week for <strong>Game Changer Wrestling (GCW)<\/strong> called <em><strong>For The Culture<\/strong><\/em>, there&#8217;s been a buzz around an event that puts a spotlight on minority wrestlers of color. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2020\/02\/24\/three-more-names-added-to-gcw-for-the-culture-wrestlemaniaweek\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">They&#8217;ve released a massive amount of names<\/a> and in the past week, they&#8217;ve finally revealed the first three matches of the event.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Will Hobbs vs. Calvin Tankman<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_63745\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-63745\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-63745\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2020\/02\/FTC3-e1582902705809.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-63745\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: GCW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A hoss match featuring two big men. <strong>Will Hobbs<\/strong> is a West Coast veteran who began out of California&#8217;s <strong>All Pro Wrestling (APW)<\/strong>, where he debuted in 2009. A 3x APW Tag Team Champion and 3x APW Worldwide Internet Champion, he&#8217;s also begun working for <strong>West Coast Pro Wrestling (WCPW)<\/strong> out of San Francisco. \u201cIndestructible\u201d\u00a0<strong>Calvin Tankman<\/strong>\u00a0is still in the early stages of wrestling, but the 380 lb. Tankman has been on a steady rise since debuting a few years ago. A mainstay with\u00a0<strong>IWA Mid South<\/strong>\u00a0since 2016, and a former IWA Mid South Heavyweight Champion, Tankman has been a wrecking crew throughout the US indies, with the likes of\u00a0<strong>Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW), EMERGE Wrestling, Paradigm Pro Wrestling<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Bizarro Lucha<\/strong>, where he\u2019s the current reigning BL Luchaversal Champion.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Faye Jackson vs. Tasha Steelz vs. Marti Belle vs. Willow Nightingale<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_63744\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-63744\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-63744\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2020\/02\/FTC2-1-e1582902722531.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-63744\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: GCW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A huge four way match at <em>For The Culture <\/em>featuring three women who are making moves in the US indies. <strong>Faye Jackson <\/strong>is a 6-year pro from Toldeo, Ohio, but is already emerging as an international star. She joined\u00a0<strong>Ring of Honor<\/strong>\u00a0in 2016, where she was part of the Women of Honor for two years. A regular with\u00a0<strong>BriiCombination Wrestling (BCW)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Women\u2019s Wrestling Revolution (WWR)<\/strong>, QOC, and more, she made her European debut in 2019 with Germany\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw)<\/strong>\u00a0and England\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling EVE.\u00a0<\/strong>The reigning BCW Women\u2019s Champion and Pro Wrestling Magic Women\u2019s Champion. One of the indie scene\u2019s most coveted young stars,\u00a0<strong>Tasha Steelz<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2018\/12\/13\/penelope-ford-leads-latest-class-of-indie-wrestlers-at-wwe-tryout-videos\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">had a WWE tryout<\/a>\u00a0back in December of 2018, and in 2019 worked special events for\u00a0<strong>Ring of Honor<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0IMPACT Wrestling<\/strong>. She even spent some\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/squaredcirclesirens.com\/tasha-steelz-touring-with-wwe-this-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">time on the road with WWE\/NXT this past fall<\/a>. A 4-year pro, the New Jersey native has been a regular with the likes of Beyond Wrestling,\u00a0<strong>Women\u2019s Wrestling Revolution (WWR), Chaotic Wrestling, RISE Wrestling,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Battle Club Pro<\/strong>. <strong>Marti Belle\u00a0<\/strong>is currently seen on\u00a0<em><strong>NWA Powerrr<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0on Tuesday nights, but this veteran of the US indies has been a star with the likes of\u00a0<strong>IMPACT Wrestling, SHIMMER, Shine Wrestling<\/strong>, and many more, including participating in the inaugural WWE Mae Young Classic in 2018.\u00a0<strong>Willow Nightingale\u00a0<\/strong>is a 4-year pro from New York who has been a huge presence in the NY\/NJ indie scene, breaking out with NYWC in 2016. Debuted with RISE in 2017 and in 2018 debuted with SHIMMER, as well as being a star with CHIKARA and Beyond Wrestling the past year, following creating the tag team <strong>The Bird &amp; The Bee<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>Solo Darling. <\/strong>Suffered a broken neck in early 2019 and missed 6 months, making her return recently.<\/p>\n<p><strong>40 Acres (Tre Lemar &amp; PB Smooth) vs. Cryme Tyme (Shad &amp; JTG)<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_63743\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-63743\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-63743\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2020\/02\/FTC1-1-e1582902739720.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-63743\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: GCW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>40 Acres <\/strong>is a stable in the Midwest featuring AJ Gray, Tre Lemar and PB Smooth, and at\u00a0<em>For the Culture<\/em>, two thirds of the squad are going into battle. The hot young prospect\u00a0<strong>Tre Lamar, <\/strong>a trainee of NXT\u2019s <strong>Johnny Gargano<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Candice Larae<\/strong>, has exploded in the Midwest, where\u2019s also in the <strong>Blood Diamond<\/strong>\u00a0stable alongside\u00a0<strong>Jake Lander<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Kobe Durst<\/strong>. The 22-year old is a regular with AIW, IWA Mid South, and\u00a0<strong>Black Label Pro<\/strong>, where he\u2019s a former BLP Tag Team Champion with Lander. <strong>PB Smooth<\/strong> is a mountain of a man and the muscle in 40 Acres. The 6\u20199\u2033 <strong>PB Smooth<\/strong> is also a student of Gargano, and has been a force in AIW, where he\u2019s a former AIW Absolute Champion. He\u2019s not just Ohio based, as he\u2019s bringing his stature to the likes of <strong>Glory Pro<\/strong>, Pennsylvania\u2019s\u00a0<strong>International Wrestling Cartel (IWC)<\/strong>\u00a0and Canada\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Alpha-1<\/strong> to name a few. Best remembered for there run in WWE from 2006 through 2010,\u00a0<strong>JTG<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Shad Gaspar<\/strong>\u00a0reunited in the indies in 2014 and continue to work together in various indies, including one in Haiti.
