Some are veterans revitalising their careers. Some are indie prospects hitting their peaks. Others are names to be on the watch for! <\/em><em>This edition looks at two of the fastest tag team competitors coming out of Australia, The Velocities.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Individually, <strong>Jude &#8216;The Dude&#8217; London<\/strong> and <strong>&#8216;Spartan Spirit&#8217; Paris De Silva<\/strong> may not have the stereotypical physical appearance of professional wrestlers. However, they joined forces after training at the <strong>Pro Wrestling Academy<\/strong> in Sydney under <strong>Robbie Eagles<\/strong> and <strong>Madison Eagles<\/strong>. From there, they formed the speediest tag team attraction in Australian wrestling.<\/p>\n<p>When London and De Silva first discovered professional wrestling on television, the sport was dominated by big, bodybuilder types. Being smaller in stature themselves, they naturally gravitated to alternative role models. These included <strong>Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero<\/strong> and <strong>Daniel Bryan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_53800\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53800\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-53800\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/EDaax2YU4AAeGgO-e1567890978329.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-53800\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: PWA Black Label\/New Photography Studios<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cEddie is the man,\u201d proclaimed De Silva before adding, \u201cI don\u2019t know if I really appreciated what he did when he was around because I was so young. Especially looking back know at this point in our careers where we pay a lot of attention to detail Eddie was an absolute master.\u201d<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">Obviously being on the smaller end of the spectrum, London and De Silva had some hesitations before beginning their training.<\/h5>\n<p>\u201cI never saw [wrestling] as an attainable thing that I could do because I had no idea that there was even wrestling in Australia\u2026 but also because there are obviously a lot of people that are a lot larger than us,\u201d said London.<\/p>\n<p>This changed once <strong>The Velocities<\/strong> began their training. De Silva said they quickly realized that \u201cheights and weights are just numbers.\u201d De Silva believes their smaller size has benefitted them in some ways.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tag Team Match - The Parea vs. The Velocities\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8tHK3SlNmgw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompared to other juniors and cruiserweights Jude and I are smaller than them, but at the same time that\u2019s another interesting factor which makes us different. It\u2019s worked out pretty well for us and contributes to our style, so I try not to worry too much about how we look. Instead, we just go out there, do what we do and do it well.\u201d<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">Whilst initially the two men had their sights set on individual goals they\u2019ve quickly seen incredible success since becoming a team.<\/h5>\n<p>In just three short years together, The Velocities have already had a series of incredible <strong>Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA)<\/strong> Tag Team Championship matches. These were against <strong>The Nations (Mick Moretti<\/strong> and <strong>Jack J. Bonza) <\/strong>and <strong>The Natural Classics (Stevie Filip<\/strong> and <strong>Tome Filip)<\/strong>. They also have also been able to tick off dream tag team opponents in <strong>Bandido<\/strong> and <strong>Flamita<\/strong>. London and De Silva have had appearances in <strong>Chikara&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/chikarapro.com\/events\/season-20\/10-04-2019_king-trios-2019-night-one\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>King Of Trios<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, alongside their trios partner <strong>Mat Diamond<\/strong>. They also had appearances at <strong>Rev Pro<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>ATTACK! Pro Wrestling<\/strong>, in the UK. Most recently, they appeared <strong>Pro Wrestling Guerrilla<\/strong> (PWG) before their upcoming PWG tag team debut against <strong>Aramis<\/strong> and <strong>Rey Horus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">With their fusion of the lucha libre and rapid <strong>Dragon Gate<\/strong> style, these two young men are a combination unlike any other on the scene today.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Look for The Velocities to make a lasting impression in the months and years to come.
