Despite appearing for All Elite Wrestling (AEW)<\/strong> twice in 2019, at AEW All Out<\/strong><\/em> in the Women’s Casino Battle Royale and then on AEW Dark<\/em> alongside Big Swole<\/strong> against Sadie Gibbs & Allie<\/strong>, a new report from SoCal Uncensored<\/a> has uncovered that Mercedes Martinez<\/strong> has signed with the WWE and will report to Orlando as part of the Winter Class at the WWE Performance Center.<\/p>\n

Mercedes Martinez is one of the pioneers of the rise of women’s wrestling in the indie scene, debuting in 2000 and working with everyone from SHIMMER<\/strong> to Shine Wrestling,<\/strong> Pro Wrestling EVE<\/strong> to Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU)<\/strong>, and multiple other promotions like Beyond Wrestling, RISE Wrestling<\/strong>, and many more. She has appeared at both WWE Mae Young Classics, which saw Mercedes have arguably the match of the tournament last year when she faced\u00a0joshi\u00a0<\/em>legend Meiko Satomura<\/strong>. Last year she also had a MOTY candidate when she faced David Starr<\/strong> in the second season of Beyond Uncharted Territory<\/strong><\/em>. She also set a record<\/a> with Tessa Blanchard<\/strong> in 2018 with the longest women’s match in pro wrestling history.<\/p>\n
