The crown jewel of this Shine weekend is the tournament to crown a new Shine Nova Champion. Following <em><strong>Shine 62<\/strong><\/em>, <strong>Shotzi Blackheart<\/strong> and Triple Aye were successful and retained their championships. However, this was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=idYC1fKNxsA\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shotzi&#8217;s last event<\/a> for Shine as she moves on in her career to the <strong>WWE<\/strong> and <strong>NXT<\/strong>. Up first we will take a look at the A bracket. The first match we will discuss is one half of BTY, <strong>Marti Belle<\/strong> taking on the rock star, <strong>Avery Taylor<\/strong>. Avery promises to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qPotUgz0aew\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bulldoze<\/a> her way through the competition, while Marti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=roiZ31ymTSM\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">promises<\/a> it will be her and <strong>Jayme Jameson<\/strong> in the finals. Taylor and Belle have a few similarities, both have held titles before. This was also where we first met <strong>Notorious Nadi<\/strong>. As she loves to remind you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=K7uvzPcA2DI\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">she&#8217;s not nice<\/a>, she&#8217;s Nadi. Both women were on the losing end that night, and Nadi has yet to pick up a win in Shine Wrestling. La Rosa Negra was part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2017\/06\/28\/shine-announces-tournament-for-new-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inaugural tournament<\/a> to crown the first Shine Nova Champion. She was eliminated in the first round by <strong>Jordynne Grace<\/strong>. These two have faced off before, for WWN Live family promotion ACW. Jenna was the ACW Women&#8217;s Champion at the time and defended against Markova. This was back in the summer of 2017 at ACW&#8217;s <em><strong>Pride 2017<\/strong><\/em> event. Both of these women have gained more experience since then and should enjoy a spirited contest. Natalia is also coming off of a victory at <em>Shine 62<\/em> over <strong>Double D Rose<\/strong>. The Cutie Pie Club is no more, and at <em><strong>Shine 61<\/strong><\/em> Rose did the unthinkable. She betrayed Candy and left her laying. The WOAD stumbled a bit at <em>Shine 62<\/em>, losing to Natalia Markova. With the Nova Championship motivating her and revenge in her sight, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qQZ137S7gN4\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Double D&#8217;Rose<\/a> needs to beat Candy at <em>Shine 63<\/em> to survive. Cartwright took part in the first tournament, where she made it to the finals before losing to <strong>Priscilla Kelly<\/strong>. She eventually gained the title, but had to relinquish it due to injury. With no one to help her or cheer her on, Candy finds herself in a new position. At <em>Shine 62<\/em> she was successful with a win over Notorious Nadi. And now she would love nothing more than to destroy her former best friend and become the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QeZEWBOEdiw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two-time Shine Nova Champion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Shine Nova Championship Tournament, Round One Bracket B<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Stormie Lee vs. Thunderkitty<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/79285966_2913545761998474_5181588626252759040_o.jpg?_nc_cat=108&amp;_nc_ohc=D_fQuZm009QAQkjyrGpHU8SY7ta8zmlbYwR7gx29HKYhkL4a1UQ7KspQw&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-sea1-1.xx&amp;oh=916074c0a7219fd5fd6ce0b7c500e84e&amp;oe=5E7EBC03\" alt=\"Shine 63\" width=\"1920\" height=\"589\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo \/ Shine Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Moving onto Bracket B, we have the Lady Wrestler Extraordinaire <strong>Thunderkitty<\/strong> taking on <strong>Stormie Lee<\/strong>. We last saw the Mississippi native was at <em><strong>Shine 58<\/strong><\/em> when she lost to <strong>Brandi Lauren<\/strong>. To this writer&#8217;s knowledge, they haven&#8217;t ever faced off before. Stormie also saw a loss in her last Shine appearance, at <em><strong>Shine 57<\/strong><\/em> against Shotzi Blackheart. Lee also participated in the first Shine Nova Championship tournament but was eliminated in the first round by <strong>Aja Perera<\/strong>. Since both of them are in the same bracket, it&#8217;s not out of the question to see this rematch at <em><strong>Shine 64<\/strong><\/em>! To get there though, she&#8217;ll have to get through Thunderkitty who had an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VfmymDVmT5s\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interesting well wish<\/a> of luck for her.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Jayme Jameson vs. Lindsay Snow<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/79079723_2913547215331662_5010952887002464256_o.jpg?_nc_cat=104&amp;_nc_ohc=aIzVyFgpJi8AQmrFZDu4T382J0tl9dTLimh0rrNIweME6aP74unohRySg&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-sea1-1.xx&amp;oh=0c63be4a4d2628bdcf60f82ccf30a6ec&amp;oe=5E72A4E6\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"589\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo \/ Shine Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This tournament contest is also tainted by personal rivalries. <strong>Lindsay Snow<\/strong> has been in the cross hairs of both Jayme Jameson and her tag partner, Marti Belle. At <em>Shine 61<\/em>, BTY got the win over the American Kaiju and her partner Jenna. However, in a one-on-one situation, Lindsay has beaten Marti before, in Livonia. She&#8217;s undefeated in this particular venue and she&#8217;s hoping her luck will continue. Time will tell if Jayme or Marti back each other up for their matches. Brandi has been on a bit of a losing streak in Shine, having lost both matches at <em>Shine 61<\/em> and <em>62<\/em> against the Pink Dream, <strong>Alex Gracia<\/strong>. This is also Randi&#8217;s return to Shine Wrestling; we haven&#8217;t seen her since <em><strong>Shine 37<\/strong><\/em> in a loss to <strong>Rachael Ellering<\/strong>. West has kept busy though, competing in death and intergender matches, among others. You can see Randi West in promotions such as <strong>Crimson Crown Wrestling, The Resistance, Pro South Wrestling, Girl Fight<\/strong> and other WWN Live brands <strong>FIP<\/strong> and ACW. In addition to competing for WWN Live brands Shine and <strong>EVOLVE<\/strong>, Brandi can be seen at <strong>Platinum Pro Wrestling<\/strong> and as part of Breezango&#8217;s entrance as an extra on <strong>NXT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Kimber Lee vs. Aja Perera (w\/Ayla Fox)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/78798013_2913544741998576_8062006532054712320_o.jpg?_nc_cat=110&amp;_nc_ohc=CVxO3doK1yoAQnZUn7d3zKcUzDs66x8q_PXQRw5rMULj00jBoBzgym8PQ&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-sea1-1.xx&amp;oh=b0479067469ba09b1abc92562cfcc0f2&amp;oe=5E737857\" alt=\"Shine 63\" width=\"1920\" height=\"589\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo \/ Shine Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Aja Perera of Triple Aye with <strong>Ayla Fox<\/strong> in tow will also participate in this tournament. She competed in the first Shine Nova Championship tournament where she was eliminated in the second round by <strong>Kiera Hogan<\/strong>. Since then she has been the Shine Nova Champion and is currently one half of the Shine Tag Team Champions. Ever since bringing Ayla on board, things have been nothing but golden for the superhero. <strong>Kimber Lee<\/strong> is a former Shine Tag Team Champion as part of the Kimber Bombs with <strong>Cherry Bomb <\/strong>(now known as<strong> Allie<\/strong>). She&#8217;s also the current SHIMMER Champion after unseating <strong>Nicole Savoy<\/strong>. Despite that, she&#8217;s been on a losing streak in Shine, having not seen a win since her return match at <em><strong>Shine 50<\/strong><\/em>. This match is also a first-time encounter and should be one to watch.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Shine Championship vs. Shine Career Match <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Allysin Kay (c) vs. Mercedes Martinez<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mercedes Martinez Said WHAT!?\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tbfWKW35V1s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When it comes to the topic of the Shine Championship, these two names are always involved. Allysin Kay and Mercedes Martinez are Shine originals, having appeared on the first volume, seven years ago. Allysin defeated Mercedes to win the tournament for the Shine Championship after <strong>LuFisto<\/strong> had to relinquish it due to health reasons. Since then, they haven&#8217;t a single&#8217;s Shine Championship match that ended decisively for one reason or another. At <em>Shine 61<\/em>, Mercedes did beat the AK47 in a non-title contest. And as seen in the video above, she&#8217;s ready to put it all on the line. If Mercedes is unable to win the Shine Championship, she will leave Shine Wrestling. The AK47 is never one to back down from a challenge and she will most likely guarantee to whoop that ass in Livonia.
