As originally reported by Sean Ross Sapp<\/strong> on Fightful Select<\/strong>, Women of Honor star Maria Manic<\/strong> has departed Ring of Honor<\/strong> after only six months and has quickly jumped to a two day private WWE Tryout in Orlando. Scarlett Bourdeaux<\/strong> had a similar private tryout<\/a> that led her to her reported recent signing.<\/p>\n

Maria Manic was one of the top women’s wrestlers on the US indie scene<\/a> for years prior to joining ROH this past summer<\/a>, but it was more for her work in hardcore promotions like Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Hardcore Hustle Organization (H2O), Freelance Wrestling<\/strong> and Impact Championship Wrestling (ICW New York)<\/strong>, amongst others. She was more often facing men in these contests and gained a reputation as one of the toughest women in pro wrestling. She had a WWE Tryout last year, before signing with ROH in the summer. According to the original report<\/a>, “the company hasn’t offered her a new deal. There was a six month out-clause in the deal, and an extension wasn’t broached.”<\/p>\n

She made her ROH debut at Best in the World<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, attacking The Allure<\/strong> post-match. Since then, she has not had a single match for Ring of Honor, not even on house shows, and has only appeared to threaten the other women, usually ending in her decimating several male security. Ring of Honor has had trouble for years now stabilizing their women’s division<\/a>, with infrequent booking and misuse of talent. At one time they featured such stars as Deonna Purrazzo, Brandi Rhodes, Madison Rayne, Faye Jackson, Karen Q, and Tenille Dashwood, who have all left for other pastures due to the misdirection of the women’s division.<\/p>\n
