{"id":55268,"date":"2019-10-01T14:30:12","date_gmt":"2019-10-01T18:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/?p=55268"},"modified":"2019-10-01T14:30:12","modified_gmt":"2019-10-01T18:30:12","slug":"goddesses-of-stardom-tag-league-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2019\/10\/01\/goddesses-of-stardom-tag-league-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is no rest for the weary as Stardom goes straight from the 5 Star Grand Prix to the Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League.\u00a0 The twelve teams are split into two blocks of six with the eventual winners getting a shot at the Goddesses Of Stardom tag team champions <strong>Konami\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jungle Kyona<\/strong>.\u00a0 Alongside some regulars, we also have the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/09\/11\/session-moth-martina-ring-of-honor\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> newly signed<\/a>\u00a0<strong>Session Moth Martina<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Zoe Lucas,<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Bobbi Tyler\u00a0<\/strong>making their returns to Stardom.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League 2019 Red Goddesses<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Oedo Tai (Hazuki &amp; Natsuko Tora)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55269\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Hazuki-Tora.jpg\" alt=\"Stardom Tag League\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Hazuki-Tora.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Hazuki-Tora-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Assault commander of Oedo Tai teaming with the absolute wrecking ball known as Natsuko Tora.\u00a0 Tora didn&#8217;t do too well in the recent GP so once would expect her to take the pins in their matches but Hazuki could earn them some points.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Jamie Hayter &amp; Bea Priestley<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55270\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Bea-Jamie.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Bea-Jamie.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Bea-Jamie-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A ragtag team of Oedo Tai&#8217;s Jamie Hayter and Queen&#8217;s Quest&#8217;s Bea Priestley.\u00a0 Priestley being the Wonder Of Stardom champion is usually booked well in Stardom so we can expect Hayter to take more pins.\u00a0 Stardom is high on Jamie though so those defeats could be few and far between.\u00a0 We may be looking at our winners here.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Queen&#8217;s Quest (Momo Watanabe &amp; AZM)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55271\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Momo-AZM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Momo-AZM.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Momo-AZM-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the holders of the tag league Watanabe teams with the breakout star of the 5 Star GP AZM.\u00a0 AZM impressed everyone with her showings in the GP after being a late replacement for<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/08\/10\/kasey-owens-stardom-azm\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Kasey Owens<\/a> and she even finished with 8 points.\u00a0 With that renewed push a team of her and Watanabe could be dangerous although it has to be said AZM will take the pins here.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Riho &amp; Starlight Kid<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55272\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Riho-Starlight-Kid.jpg\" alt=\"Stardom Tag League\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Riho-Starlight-Kid.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Riho-Starlight-Kid-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An exciting team of High Speed champion, and potentially the AEW Women&#8217;s champion, Riho and fellow high speed competitor Starlight Kid.\u00a0 Riho is still unbeaten in Stardom and while that is expected to end during this tournament it&#8217;s hard to see her taking the pin in any match.\u00a0 They may end up in the finals but it&#8217;s tough to see this team winning the entire league.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>STARS (Mayu Iwatani &amp; Saki Kashima)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55273\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Mayu-Saki.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Mayu-Saki.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Mayu-Saki-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Former Goddesses of Stardom Champions &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/01\/23\/star-gazing-the-icon-of-stardom-mayu-iwatani\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Icon Of Stardom<\/a>&#8221; Mayu Iwatani and Saki Kashima.\u00a0 Both women are successful tag team wrestlers with previous tag title runs and Mayu is a former winner of the Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League.\u00a0 Kashima is usually the pin eater in this team and while Mayu is a main event star she isn&#8217;t being pushed so it&#8217;s not likely we see them win the league.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tokyo Cyber Squad (Konami &amp; Jungle Kyona)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55274\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/KyoNami.jpg\" alt=\"Stardom Tag League\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/KyoNami.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/KyoNami-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The current Goddesses Of Stardom tag team champions and a surprising inclusion given Kyona&#8217;s recent<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/09\/14\/jungle-kyona-out-5star\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> injury<\/a>.\u00a0 It&#8217;s unlikely we see the champions win especially in such a tough block but one would expect them to be in the hunt.\u00a0 Konami, since committing full time, has been the more pushed member of the team so expect Kyona to take the pins.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League 2019 Blue Goddesses<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>3838 Tag (Saya Iida &amp; Saya Kamitani)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55275\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/3838.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/3838.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/3838-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Big Saya teams with bigger Saya to form the most menacing team in wrestling history.\u00a0 Both debuted within the last 12 months and in that time have been impressive.\u00a0 The blue block is lighter in terms of quality so they aren&#8217;t as likely to go winless but rookie teams don&#8217;t usually prosper in the Stardom tag league.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tokyo Cyber Squad (Bobbi Tyler &amp; Zoe Lucas)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55276\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Bobbi-Zoe.jpg\" alt=\"Stardom Tag League\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Bobbi-Zoe.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Bobbi-Zoe-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another team of gaijins this time representing Tokyo Cuber Squad.\u00a0 Neither Lucas or Tyler has received much of a push in Stardom but Tyler was the more protected of the two during their last tour so Lucas will likely take the pins.\u00a0 They&#8217;ll finish in the middle of the pack more than likely<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tokyo Cyber Squad (Hana Kimura &amp; Death Yama-San)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55277\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Hana-Yama.jpg\" alt=\"Stardom Tag League\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Hana-Yama.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Hana-Yama-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/09\/22\/winner-2019-5star-grand-prix\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">winner of the GP<\/a> teaming with the former High Speed champion Death Yama-San.\u00a0 Hana could be going into this one as World Of Stardom champion and with the recent GP victory is a clear star for the company so she won&#8217;t be the one taking pins here.\u00a0 Yama-San is at the point where losses don&#8217;t hurt her so she&#8217;ll take the pins and we predict she&#8217;ll take quite a few.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Oedo Tai (Kagetsu &amp; Andras Miyagi)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55278\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Kagetsu-vs-Andras-Miyagi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Kagetsu-vs-Andras-Miyagi.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Kagetsu-vs-Andras-Miyagi-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the few already established teams in their block Kagetsu and Andras have to be favourites in their block.\u00a0 The two former Sendai Girls wrestlers have been losing challengers for the titles earlier this year but you can never rule out Kagetsu.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>STARS (Arisa Hoshiki &amp; Tam Nakano)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55279\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Arisa-Tam.jpg\" alt=\"Stardom Tag League\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Arisa-Tam.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/10\/Arisa-Tam-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hoshiki asked for this, it might not end well for her but she wanted it.\u00a0 Ever since Hoshiki came back it&#8217;s been very clear that Tam isn&#8217;t her biggest fan.\u00a0 They had a heated match over the Wonder Of Stardom championship just a few months ago where they took each other to the limit.\u00a0 Now they&#8217;re teaming together they pose a threat to any team in the tournament but may fall foul of one another if things go wrong.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Oedo Tai (Session Moth Martina &amp;
