We last saw her at <em><strong>Shine 52<\/strong><\/em> where she lost to <strong>Dynamite DiDi<\/strong>. Since then, she&#8217;s made a ton of debuts. She debuted for <strong>RISE Wrestling<\/strong>, made a few appearances in <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong> dark matches and toured with <strong>World Wonder Ring Stardom<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/04\/26\/notable-indie-names-at-this-weeks-wwe-tryouts\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex<\/a> is also the current <strong>Reality of Wrestling<\/strong> Diamonds Division Champion. <strong>Brandi Lauren<\/strong> is your typical stuck-up girl who thinks she&#8217;s better than everyone. She&#8217;s taken down <strong>Thunderkitty, La Rosa Negra<\/strong>, and now Alex Gracia is her next challenge. The Russian brawler will be taking on the debuting Kris Statlander, the Alien among us. Statlander&#8217;s 2019 has been out of this world, holding the WSU Spirit Championship for just over six months and having a brief run with the IndepednentWrestling.TV <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/05\/26\/kris-statlander-wins-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Independent Championship<\/a>. These two women have something in common though, they&#8217;ve recently lost championships. Kris lost her WSU Spirit Championship to <strong>Davienne<\/strong> at <strong>WSU<\/strong> <em><strong>Is It Fall Yet?<\/strong><\/em> After chasing <strong>Avery Taylor<\/strong> and the <strong>ACW<\/strong> Women&#8217;s Championship for months, Natalia won the title at <em><strong>Shine 59<\/strong><\/em>. They also attacked <strong>Lindsey Snow<\/strong> following her match. At <em>Shine 61<\/em>, they will have the team of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IsbR4be5k34\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lindsay and <strong>Jenna<\/strong><\/a> standing across the ring from them. The blond powerhouses are not afraid of Marti and Jayme. The mean girl bravado doesn&#8217;t intimidate the American Kaiju and the Bionic Beast. The downfall of Better Than You may just be the underestimation of their opponents. After all, it cost them a victory and a shot at the Shine Tag Team Championships at <em><strong>Shine 60<\/strong><\/em>. Which team will reign supreme, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KQvPism7VyQ\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the blondes or the brunettes?<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Cutie Pie Club (Candy Cartwright &amp; Double D&#8217;Rose) vs. Avery Taylor &amp; Brittany Blake<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-54491\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/cutie-pie-club-vs-avery-brittany.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"456\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/cutie-pie-club-vs-avery-brittany.png 456w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/cutie-pie-club-vs-avery-brittany-300x184.png 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/cutie-pie-club-vs-avery-brittany-356x220.png 356w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Returning to Shine are <strong>Candy Cartwright<\/strong> and her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZnqGMz8KeQo\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cutie Pie Club<\/a>. The Cutie Pie Club was defeated at <em><strong>Shine 57<\/strong><\/em> and by the stipulation of the match, they were banned from Shine for 90 days. Candy will be stepping in a Shine ring for the first time in 10 months; her last match was at <em><strong>Shine 54<\/strong><\/em>. <strong>Double D Rose<\/strong> returned at Shine 60 where her match with <strong>Holidead<\/strong> went to a double disqualification. The Weapon of Ass Destruction has only become more dangerous since we last saw her.<\/p>\n<p>We also haven&#8217;t seen <strong>Avery Taylor<\/strong> for a couple of months, not since <em>Shine 59<\/em>. She lost the ACW Women&#8217;s Championship to Natalia Markova but regained it at <em><strong>ACW Pride<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0just a week later. Since then, she&#8217;s put down women like <strong>Lexi Gomez, Katalina Perez,<\/strong> and <strong>Allie Recks.<\/strong> Brittany Blake is making her Shine debut at La Boom. Blake has also appeared for fellow women&#8217;s promotions Women Superstars United and <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong>. She&#8217;s also one half of the tag team the Sinister Sweethearts with <strong>Samantha Heights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tina San Antonio vs. Notorious Nadi<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"She&#039;s Not Nice...She&#039;s Nadi!!!\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TrvJr3fmqJ4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Both of these women are returning at <em>Shine 61<\/em>! <strong>Notorious Nadi<\/strong> (pronounced nah-dee) we first met at <em>Shine 59<\/em>. She&#8217;s worked for promotions on both coasts of the US; <strong>CZW, Women&#8217;s Wrestling Revolution, Alternative Wrestling Show, Santino Brothers,<\/strong> and <strong>Future Stars of Wrestling<\/strong>. <strong>Tina San Antonio<\/strong> hasn&#8217;t been seen in Shine since volume 7 in 2013. Tina began wrestling in 2009 after training under <strong>WWE<\/strong> Hall of Famer <strong>Johnny Rodz<\/strong>. She stepped away from the squared circle in 2014 before returning for one match in 2017 and now full time in 2019. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FBuWBR8b7gE\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tina<\/a> is the current <strong>New York Wrestling Connection<\/strong> Starlet Champion and is a former WSU Tag Team Champion with Marti Belle as the Belle Saints.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Mercedes Martinez vs. Ivelisse<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-54492\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/mercedes-vs-ivelisse.png\" alt=\"Shine 61\" width=\"456\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/mercedes-vs-ivelisse.png 456w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/mercedes-vs-ivelisse-300x184.png 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/mercedes-vs-ivelisse-356x220.png 356w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This has been building for several months now. Back in December of 2018, <strong>Mercedes Martinez<\/strong> confronted Shine Champion Allysin Kay for a title shot. Shine officials then announced that Kay&#8217;s next challenger would be Martinez&#8217;s partner <strong>Ivelisse<\/strong> instead. Martinez got her shot at the AK47 at <em>Shine 59<\/em>, as travel issues had prevented Kay from being at their originally scheduled bout at <em>Shine 57<\/em>. Mercedes was victorious over Kay but by disqualification. At <em>Shine 60<\/em>, the two former tag team partners were booked in a triple threat match with Allysin Kay. Following the win by Kay, the bad blood between Las Sicarias boiled over. The two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DSExaPAUdb0\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">began to fight<\/a> and it took the entire Shine roster to pull them apart. At <em>Shine 61<\/em>, Mercedes and Ivelisse will have a chance to settle the score.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>SHINE Tag Team Championship Match &#8211; No DQ &#8211; No Count-Out &#8211; NYC Street Fight<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Rainbow Bright (Luscious Latasha &amp; Gabby Gilbert) (c) vs. Triple Aye (Aja Perera &amp; Big Swole) w\/ Ayla<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-54494\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/rainbow-bright-vs-aye.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"456\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/rainbow-bright-vs-aye.png 456w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/rainbow-bright-vs-aye-300x184.png 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/09\/rainbow-bright-vs-aye-356x220.png 356w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><br \/>\nThe team of Triple Aye, <strong>Aja Perera<\/strong> and <strong>Big Swole<\/strong>, led by their manager <strong>Ayla Fox<\/strong> have found themselves in the Shine Tag Team Championship picture. At <em>Shine 60<\/em>, they defeated the Better Than You, Marti Belle and Jayme Jameson. To prevent any shenanigans from the champions (who have used weapons and their bestie <strong>Santana<\/strong> in prior title matches), Shine officials also made this match a no disqualification, no count-out, New York City Street Fight! <strong>Luscious Latasha<\/strong> and <strong>Gabby Gilbert<\/strong> were less than thrilled about this development; however as they prepared for this match they showed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aavQPJjkLis\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a different side<\/a> to Rainbow Bright. Allysin Kay, the AK47, is over 130 days in her second reign with the championship. She&#8217;s also the current reigning and defending <strong>NWA<\/strong> World Women&#8217;s Champion. Kay also had a very impressive showing at <strong>GCW<\/strong> <em><strong>Josh Barnett&#8217;s Bloodsport 2<\/strong><\/em> against SHIMMER Champion <strong>Nicole Savoy<\/strong>. <strong>Shotzi Blackheart<\/strong> is the current Shine Nova Champion, also just over 130 days into her reign. She won the title from Aja Perera at <em><strong>Shine 58<\/strong><\/em>. Shotzi and Kay have faced off once before for Kay&#8217;s Shine Championship back at <em><strong>EVOLVE 115<\/strong><\/em>. The fans of Shine are in for a real treat with this match, to see these two highly talented veterans square off.<\/p>\n<p>All of this amazing action will take place on September 21st at La Boom in New York City! It is part of a double-header with EVOLVE, so bell time is scheduled for 3:00 PM Eastern Time.
