{"id":53362,"date":"2019-08-30T04:48:46","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T08:48:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/?p=53362"},"modified":"2019-08-30T04:48:46","modified_gmt":"2019-08-30T08:48:46","slug":"besties-reclaim-aaw-tag-team-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2019\/08\/30\/besties-reclaim-aaw-tag-team-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"#AndNEW: Besties in the World Reclaim AAW Tag Team Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the first night of<\/span><b> AAW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s fourth annual <\/span><b><i>Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Davey Vega &amp; Mat Fitchett, better known as the <\/span><b>Besties In The World<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, won the AAW Tag Team Titles for the third time in their careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The match featured both the reigning champs <\/span><b>Latin American eXchange (Santana &amp; Ortiz)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and the impromptu challenge of the<\/span><b> AEW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tag-team the <\/span><b>Lucha Bros<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and was in the main event. With an elimination stipulation added to the match, the Besties were able to outlast both teams, beating LAX for the title win. In fact, the duo has gone on record to say they consider AAW their home despite being St. Louis natives. After their last tag title reign ended during <\/span><b><i>All In <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">weekend, the boys have remained the faces of the tag division all year. The Besties put on classic matches against both <\/span><b>WRSTLING<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>The Rascalz <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in AAW, and recently debuted for <\/span><b>EVOLVE<\/b> <b>Wrestling<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EVOLVE 134.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JJWilliamsWON\/status\/1166627966287253505?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/twitter.com\/JJWilliamsWON\/status\/1166627966287253505?s=20<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/brAesFV6EPc\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">preview clip from their upcoming mini-documentary<\/a>, the team stated their desire to become the longest-reigning tag champs in AAW history. Currently having the 2nd longest reign behind <\/span><b>Oi4K<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Vega &amp; Fitchett have spent over 500 days with the belts over the past four years. With 80 days to go until breaking the record, this goal is looking very achievable for the independent superstars.
