In the earlier days of her career, she was part of a tandem alongside Viper known as She-X, a team that proved to be a success with some big victories coming their way while teaming together. When 2014 rolled around, that’s when a huge opportunity presented itself for Bete, as she had the chance to head off to Japan for a tour as part of the Ice Ribbon roster. It was here where she battled the likes of current All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Hikaru Shida and her currently scheduled final opponent Tsukasa Fujimoto.

After returning from her overseas venture, Bete would add the likes of Source Wrestling, Discovery Wrestling, Scottish Wrestling Alliance (SWA), and the Spanish promotion Revolution Championship Wrestling (RCW) to her resume of promotions. A second tour of Japan came in 2016, where Bete wrestled once again for Ice Ribbon, while also appearing for both REINA and OZ Academy. By the time we reached the summer of 2017 however, Bete Noire was no more. She had joined the dark side, and rechristened herself as Jayla Dark.

With this new persona came oodles of success, as The Supreme Leader of The Thirst Order became a force to be reckoned with in the revamped Fierce Females, starting things off with a victory over Chakara at the company’s return show in October 2017. Meanwhile, down in England for FutureShock Wrestling (FSW), Jayla had formed an alliance known as The Queen Bees alongside Molly Spartan and Kasey Owens, a trio that’s ran roughshod over the women’s division down there. In addition, she had once again become a huge name in Pro Wrestling: EVE, which saw her open the show at the first ever WrestleQueendom show in May 2018 as part of a War Games Match. That’s all fine and dandy, but it wasn’t enough for Jayla – she wanted that first taste of championship gold.

That’s exactly what she got the following month at Fierce Females’ Sweet Sixteen event, defeating former She-X partner Viper in a hellacious no disqualifications match to lift the Scottish Women’s Championship. After capturing the title, Jayla proved to be a fighting champion, with defences following against Addy Starr, Valkyrie, Jokey, and Satsuki Totoro, before she lost the strap to Sammii Jayne earlier this month. During this time, Jayla also captured the World Wide Wrestling League (W3L) Women’s Championship from Emily Hayden in May of this year, a title she has since lost back to Emily just days after being defeated by Sammii.

At the time of writing, Jayla Dark currently has two matches left in her schedule, both of which are part of Pro Wrestling: EVE shows – challenging Rhia O’Reilly for the EVE Championship on Friday, September 27th at Friday Night Riot, and then facing Tsukasa Fujimoto on Saturday, September 28th at She Regrets Nothing. After that though, Jayla Dark will be taking off her wrestling boots for the final time.

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
