On Friday, August 9th, PCW<\/span> ULTRA<\/strong> returns with their latest event, No<\/strong><\/em><\/span> Quarter<\/strong><\/em>. This event will have no shortage of championship matches, and will also involve a cross-promotional opportunity as DEFY Wrestling<\/strong> will play a part. The tag team champions for both promotions are on the card, which means fans will witness the ultra-violent nature of Warbeast<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mil<\/span> Muertes<\/span><\/strong> will be defending the PCW<\/span> ULTRA Championship, Jake Atlas<\/strong> will be defending the PCW<\/span> ULTRA Light Championship and Artemis Spencer<\/strong> will be defending his DEFY Wrestling championship. It is a night full of exciting match-ups<\/span> and is not a card that should be divided in half, let alone in quarters. Last Word on Pro Wrestling presents its preview of PCW<\/span> ULTRA’s<\/a> newest event No<\/em><\/span> Quarter<\/em>.<\/p>\n

UNSANCTIONED MATCH PCW ULTRA AND<\/span> DEFY TAG TEAM title: <\/strong>Warbeast<\/span> (Jacob Fatu and Josef Samuel) (c) vs. Outlawz<\/span> Inc<\/span> (Homicide and Eddie Kingston)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The word brutal best describes what will happen when these four men go at it at No Quarter<\/em>. Josef Samuel<\/strong> and Fatu<\/span><\/strong> can unquestionably bring the thunder to whomever they are in the ring with. As many have seen, whether in PCW<\/span> ULTRA, DEFY Wrestling, or in MLW<\/span><\/strong> where they are as part of CONTRA Unit<\/a>,<\/span> Fatu<\/span> and Samuel will bring the fight to their opposition. The quest to retain their championships goes through another equally violent and experienced duo in Homicide<\/strong> and Eddie Kingston<\/strong>. These men are no strangers to one another, so the question will be what will tip things in one particular team’s favor?<\/p>\n

As many have seen Fatu<\/span><\/a> has generated a firestorm of attention for himself whether it is in singles or tag action. A member of the Samoan Dynasty, he is generating a great deal of attention for his sheer size and speed along with the intensity with which he competes. Samuel is not to be taken lightly either, as he is the perfectly violent partner to the ultra-violent Samoan. Homicide has a history of being in the most violent of matches all over the world. Kingston has recently gained greater exposure from his work in IMPACT Wrestling, after having an already established independent wrestling career.<\/p>\n

Brian Pillman<\/span> Jr. Schaff<\/span> vs. Douglas James<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This match will feature three very different athletes with very different styles, and fans are in for a real treat at No Quarter<\/em>. The former military man Schaff<\/span><\/a><\/strong> comes head-to-head-to-head with a second-generation rising star in Brian Pillman<\/span> Jr<\/strong>, and another emerging star in Douglas James<\/strong>. A graduate of the Santino<\/span> Brothers Academy, James<\/a> will take his strong judo background and put it to good use against \u2018the baddest mother**ker<\/span> in professional wrestling.’<\/p>\n

Schaff<\/span> has built a name for himself in DEFY, but this time will be in front of a PCW<\/span> ULTRA crowd. The least experienced of all those involved in the match is a member of MLW’<\/span>s Hart Foundation, Brian Pillman<\/span> Jr. What will the implications of this match be for the winner? Will a championship opportunity be a consideration? That may very well be a possibility.<\/p>\n

Daga<\/span> vs. Puma King<\/strong><\/h3>\n

These two lucha<\/span> stars will keep fans with edge of their seat with the action contained in their match. Puma King<\/strong> and Daga<\/span><\/strong> face one another in a Lucha Grudge match<\/span>, and the winner could potentially be considered a threat to the Light Championship. Daga<\/span> is an eleven-year veteran is quite versatile in the ring. Puma King, however, is only two years his junior and has himself been in the ring for twelve years. These two men will hit each other from every angle, are likely to steal the show on August 9th at No Quarter<\/em>. King will be able to showcase his strength, as the powerbomb<\/span> and its various incarnations are what has helped make him the success he is today.<\/p>\n

PCW ULTRA Light Championship Match: Jake Atlas (c) vs. TJ Perkins

One match on this night that will certainly capture everyone\u2019s attention and excitement is this battle for the PCW ULTRA Light Championship. Former WWE<\/strong> Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins<\/strong> will face the newest sensation in independent wrestling, Santino Brothers Academy trainee Jake Atlas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Atlas<\/a> has truly come into his own; despite dealing with injury early on in his career, he has overcome it and is able to showcase just what he is willing to do in the ring, including his spectacular finishing move, the LGB-DDT, where he walks along the top rope, clutches his opponent\u2019s head and drops them face-first onto the mat. As for Perkins, fans are fully aware of how he can seamlessly transition from move to move crisply and fluidly without missing a beat. With Atlas\u2019 Light Championship on the line, the stakes are high and will the less experienced champion will be put to the test by the noted veteran and multi-time champion.<\/p>\n

DEFY Championship Match: <\/strong>Artemis Spencer (c) vs. Matt Sydal<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On the heels of retaining his DEFY Championship at DEFY\u2019s recent Super 8XGP<\/em><\/strong>, Artemis Spencer<\/strong> will come to PCW ULTRA to put his championship on the line against the \u2018Psychedelic Sensation\u2019 Matt Sydal<\/strong>. Both men are eagerly looking forward to facing one another, and are willing to do whatever is necessary in order to walk away as the champion. The biggest challenge will be that the face of DEFY is walking into a territory that isn\u2019t considered home, in front of a crowd that isn\u2019t his typical DEFYance fanbase.<\/p>\n

Spencer has had a very successful run as the champion; after defeating the long-standing champion Shane Strickland<\/strong>, Spencer was able to successfully defend his title against the likes of TJ Perkins, Dezmond Xavier<\/strong>, Jake Atlas, Ethan HD<\/strong> and Maxwell Jacob Friedman<\/strong> over the course of 2019. He now defends his championship against a man that has captured championships all over the world in Matt Sydal.<\/p>\n

PCW<\/span> ULTRA Women’s Championship Match: Tessa Blanchard (c) vs. Sumie Sakai<\/span>

To be the best you have to beat the best, which is a paraphrase of a statement made popular by Ric<\/span> Flair<\/span><\/strong>, the long-time stablemate of Tessa Blanchard’s<\/strong> father, Tully.<\/span> That saying is also applicable to Tessa, who is arguably one of the most talented, and popular women in wrestling today. On this night she will step into the ring with a former Women<\/span> of Honor champion in Sumie<\/span> Sakai<\/strong>. Sakai and Blanchard have both been doing their utmost to promote this match.<\/span><\/p>\n

Blanchard has faced the likes of Jordynne Grace<\/strong>, Taya Valkyrie<\/strong>, and Gail Kim<\/strong>, but in Sakai, she faces a Japanese star that has worked hard in the recent past to generate<\/span> a name for herself in North America. That said, she has been subject to criticism as her<\/span> style has not necessarily connected with the North American audience. Will a match against Blanchard improve perceptions of Sakai’s time in North America? Experience appears to be the biggest difference between them, but it remains to be seen if it factors into this match up.<\/p>\n

PCW<\/span> ULTRA Championship: Mil Muertes (c) vs. Dan Maff

Fans of lucha<\/span> libre,<\/span> and in particular the program Lucha<\/span> Underground<\/strong>, are familiar with Mil Muertes<\/strong>.<\/span> The frightening ‘man of a thousand deaths’ has struck fear in the hearts and minds of those that have come into contact<\/span> with him. However, as the PCW<\/span> ULTRA Champion, he faces talent from all over the world. In Dan <\/strong>Maff<\/strong>,<\/span> fans will see a twenty-year veteran of the ring come in and challenge for the title.<\/p>\n

At 42 years of age, Maff is as dangerous now as he has ever been. He has had notorious battles against the likes of Nick Gage<\/strong>, and his nearly six-foot, 260 lb frame will be a formidable adversary for the monster Muertes.<\/span> If these men’s respective fighting styles are any indication, fans can anticipate a battle that will be hard-hitting and likely not be confined to the ring. Their ultra-violent nature will be demonstrated not only in what they do to one another but what they are willing to subject themselves to as well.<\/p>\n
