Smash&#8217;s <strong>Brent Banks<\/strong> has been one of the top stars in the Southern Ontario indie scene and has recently made his <strong>PROGRESS<\/strong> debut in the UK. <strong>Marius Al-Ani<\/strong> was a tag specialist in <strong>A4<\/strong> with <strong>Absolute Andy<\/strong> until becoming a top singles star and wXw Shotgun Champion. <strong>Julian Pace<\/strong> is best remembered as a former tag team champion in <strong>Cerberus<\/strong> with <strong>Ilja Dragunov,<\/strong> but is no slouch on his own. OWE and<strong> All Elite Wrestling (AEW)<\/strong> star <strong>CIMA<\/strong> rounds out the four men in this match-up, which is sure to turn some heads.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Yuki Ishikawa vs. Timothy Thatcher<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51738\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51738\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51738\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/08\/D_28uzqX4AEIsYS-e1564964813835.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51738\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Two tough grizzled veterans go one on one, as <strong>Yuki Ishikawa <\/strong>takes on<strong> Timothy Thatcher<\/strong>. Ishikawa began his career in 1992 with <strong>Pro Wrestling Fujiwara Gumi<\/strong>, training under\u00a0<strong>Yoshiaki Fujiwara<\/strong>, before heading to NJPW the following year. In 1996, he started his own promotion\u00a0<strong>Fighting Investigation Team BattleArts<\/strong>\u00a0(commonly just called BattleArts), which he ran until the promotion closed in 2011. He was an early mentor and trainer for former WWE Superstar\u00a0<strong>Santino Marella<\/strong>, who named his own wrestling school BattleArts Academy in honor of his mentor. As a freelancer, he\u2019s worked for the likes of\u00a0<strong>All Japan, Big Japan Wrestling, Pro Wrestling ZERO1<\/strong> and more. Timothy Thatcher is part of <strong>Ringkampf<\/strong> in wXw alongside <strong>WALTER<\/strong> and has been one of the top shoot fighters in the world. Hard-hitting and a technical specimen, he was EVOLVE Champion and continues to set clinics around the world.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>#StrongHearts (T-Hawk &amp; El Lindaman) vs. Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher &amp; Mark Davis) vs. The Crown (Jurn Simmons &amp; Alexander James)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51743\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51743\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51743\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/08\/EAQpKOoXUAAYm0--e1564964886606.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51743\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When this was originally booked, it was for the wXw World Tag Team Championship, but since then, <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/08\/04\/andnew-walter-ilja-dragunov-win-wxw-tag-team-championship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Aussie Open<\/strong> has lost the titles to WALTER &amp; Ilja Dragunov,<\/a> so it&#8217;s most likely now a contendership match. Three strong teams, as OWE and AEW stars <strong>Strong Hearts<\/strong> (T-Hawk and El Lindmana) face off against former champs Aussie Open as well as wXw staples <strong>The Crown<\/strong> for a chance to get back in contention for the wXw tag team titles.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>wXw Women&#8217;s Champion Amale vs. NXT UK Champion Toni Storm vs. NWA World Women&#8217;s Champion Allysin Kay<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51742\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51742\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51742\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/08\/EAbM5ulXkAE3S67-e1564964911195.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51742\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A non-title match featuring three women&#8217;s champions from around the world. French indie star <strong>Amale Winchester<\/strong> won the wXw Women&#8217;s Championship at <em><strong>Superstars of Wrestling<\/strong><\/em>, taking the title from <strong>Toni Storm<\/strong> this past June. Speaking of Storm, the NXT UK Women&#8217;s Champion will get a sense of redemption if she can pull off the victory, but with no titles on the line, she have to suffice with the win. The final entrant in the triple threat is the new NWA World Women&#8217;s Champion <strong>Allysin Kay<\/strong>, who continues to add gold to a trophy cabinet that includes 2x IMPACT Knockouts Champion and the Shine Championship.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: Bobby Gunns (c) vs. Mike &#8220;Speedball&#8221; Bailey<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51739\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51739\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51739\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/08\/D_ncczFWwAI0e2T-e1564964829172.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51739\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Bobby Gunns<\/strong> has smoked his way to 150-days as the wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion since defeating Absolute Andy at <em><strong>16 Carat Gold<\/strong><\/em> this past spring, and he&#8217;s facing one of Canada&#8217;s premier indie stars in <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/02\/13\/indie-watch-mike-speedball-bailey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mike &#8220;Speedball&#8221; Bailey<\/strong><\/a>.
