A staple of women\u2019s wrestling on the American independent scene, Barbi<\/strong> Hayden<\/strong>, has announced her plans to step away from pro wrestling. The former National Wrestling<\/strong> Alliance<\/strong> (NWA<\/strong>) women\u2019s champion was Abilene<\/strong> Maverick<\/strong><\/a> on WOW<\/a>:<\/strong> Women<\/strong> Of<\/strong> Wrestling<\/strong> on AXS TV. The 28 year-old Texan became the youngest NWA women\u2019s champion at the age of twenty-three in 2014 and she defended the championship eleven times. There weren\u2019t many aspects of the game that Barbi couldn\u2019t handle from promo’s to commentary to being a valet to competing in several promotions at once.<\/p>\n

Barbi Hayden spent nine years wrestling some of the toughest from pro wrestling’s past and future stars, Tessa<\/strong> Blanchard<\/strong> and Hayden competed in the very first televised women\u2019s match in China on July 31, 2015. SHINE<\/strong> Wrestling<\/strong>, Ring<\/strong> Of<\/strong> Honor<\/strong> Wrestling (ROH)<\/strong> and Title<\/strong> Match<\/strong> Wrestling<\/strong> are also on her resume as well as title reigns for Anarchy<\/strong> Championship<\/strong> Wrestling<\/strong>\u00a0(ACW<\/strong>) including the TV title. A former four-time Lone<\/strong> Star<\/strong> Championship<\/strong> Wrestling<\/strong> women\u2019s champion, Barbie Hayden has also wrestled for Impact<\/strong> Wrestling<\/strong> on PPV at TNA<\/strong>:<\/strong> One<\/strong> Night<\/strong> Only<\/strong><\/em> for a women\u2019s showcase.<\/p>\n

The blonde bombshell has laced her boots against everyone from Joey<\/strong> Ryan<\/strong> to Santana<\/strong> Garrett<\/strong> and that hard work didn\u2019t come unnoticed because Hayden received several WWE<\/strong> tryouts over the years. Hayden was going to be in the inaugural WWE<\/strong> Mae<\/strong> Young<\/strong> Classic<\/strong><\/em> tournament but she was instead on hand as a backup in case an injury occurred to any of the competitors. Unfortunately, Barbi Hayden didn\u2019t get her time to shine under the bright lights of WWE TV as Deonna<\/strong> Purrazzo<\/strong> and Rachel<\/strong> Ellering<\/strong> did in the following year’s tournament but how can fans not be impressed by the career of Hayden.\u00a0Brandi Rhodes\u00a0<\/strong>had a meeting with Barbi Hayden earlier in 2019 about joining the\u00a0All Elite Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>(AEW)\u00a0<\/strong>roster once her WOW contract was up but Hayden has other career plans altogether.<\/p>\n

Wins over such top stars like Mia<\/strong> Yim<\/strong>, Candice<\/strong> LaRae<\/strong> and Jordynne<\/strong> Grace<\/strong> are under her belt as she heads to different bright lights, that of Sin City. Spiegelworld<\/strong> will be a show including acrobatics, comedy, aerial pole dancing, hula dancing, Irish hand dancing and wrestling in Las Vegas. Opening in September 2019<\/a>, fans can see Barbi Hayden at The Venetian Las Vegas after it\u2019s world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Far from your average Barbi, this powerhouse had so much to offer to pro wrestling but her new career looks to blend everything she\u2019s learned over the past ten years.<\/p>\n
