Following the video package, Kingston’s WWE Super Showdown opponent Dolph Ziggler would make his way down to the ring and make it clear once again that it should have been him. Kofi would bring up how Dolph has had plenty of moments in the WWE and he was apart of plenty of those. Kingston would make the point that it truly could have been, but like always, Ziggler quit which is why it was not him. It would shut down Dolph as he wouldn’t speak another word. He would then point to the titantron to show him beating down the champion in the past few weeks.

Following a successful victory for Kingston and Woods over Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, Ziggler would attack Kofi from behind. He would leave both New Day members laying as he stood tall over his opponent this Friday. Dolph has done all he can to hype up this matchup as he looks to finally win the WWE Championship by ending the Kofi Kingston fairytale.

SmackDown LIVE Highlight: R-Truth Loses and Wins the 24/7 Championship

Photo: WWE

Shane McMahon called R-Truth to inform him he would defend the championship against Elias in a sanctioned, lumberjack match.
