Major League Wrestling (MLW)<\/strong> announced a blockbuster deal that will see lucha legend Dr. Wagner Jr.<\/strong> and his son, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.<\/strong> head to MLW to compete in tag team action for the July 6 MLW Fusion tapings for MLW Kings of Coliseum<\/strong><\/em> in Chicago. MLW sent out a press release on Tuesday<\/a> to announce the duo’s imminent arrival in MLW.<\/p>\n

League officials can confirm that Promociones Dorado\u2019s Salina de la Renta brokered the blockbuster deal to bring the duo in.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>
\n\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>
\nCollectively known as La Dinastia Wagner, the Wagner family have competed in the sport for almost 50 years. With three generations fighting for the family\u2019s honor, belts and the fans, the Wagner family is lucha royalty in Mexico and around the world.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

With the late Dr. Wagner infighting fear into the hearts of opponents and fans as an evil doctor (aka\u00a0medical assassino), the white mask represents the white mask and\u00a0scrubs of a doctor.<\/strong><\/em>

\nAn international wrestler of excellence, Dr. Wagner Jr. has competed around the world including extensively touring for New Japan Pro Wrestling, winning championships on several continents and being the face of the video game, AAA: H\u00e9roes del Ring.<\/strong><\/em>

Wagner Jr., the son of the legendary luchadore, made his debut in 1985 alongside his brother, the recently departed Silver King<\/strong><\/a>, in various Mexican independents. Originally the masked superstar known as El Invasor, he would soon adopt his father’s famous persona, heading to Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) in 1987. In 1993, he would jump to\u00a0Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL)<\/b>, where he would be a fixture until 2009, as a 2x CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion. In 2009, he jumped to another rival promotion in\u00a0Asistencia Asesor\u00eda y Administraci\u00f3n (AAA<\/b>, now Lucha Libre AAA), where he’s a former 3x AAA Mega Champion. He continues to be one of AAA’s top draws. At AAA TripleMania XXV<\/strong><\/em>, he was unmasked<\/a> in a vicious fight against Psycho Clown<\/strong>\u00a0but continues to be one of Mexico’s biggest Superstars.<\/p>\n

El Hijo de Dr. Wagner is a third generation luchador, the grandson of both Dr. Wagner and Alfonso Morales, and the son of Wagner Jr. and his former wife Rossy Moreno (daughter of Morales). The 27-year old debuted in 2009 and has worked for many Mexican independent promotions over the course of his career.<\/p>\n
