As <strong>Rey Mysterio Jr<\/strong> has been pursuing <strong>Samoa Joe<\/strong> and the WWE United States Championship &#8211; which Rey won on Sunday night at <em><strong>Money In The Bank<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; he&#8217;s been side-by-side with his real life son, <strong>Dominic Guti\u00e9rrez.\u00a0<\/strong>For long time WWE fans, they&#8217;ll remember a young Dominic being used as a pawn in a feud between his father and Rey&#8217;s longtime best friend (and foe)\u00a0<strong>Eddie Guerrero\u00a0<\/strong>back in 2005.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_46459\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-46459\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-46459\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/05\/untitled-1-1485289181-800-e1558388447574.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"403\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-46459\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Since then, Rey&#8217;s son has grown up quite a bit and now he&#8217;s been training to follow his father&#8217;s footsteps in becoming a pro wrestler. Now 22 years old, Dominic has been training several years now. In 2017, he started his journey in his hometown of San Diego, California with <strong>Finest City Wrestling<\/strong>\u00a0(with his father and <strong>Konnan<\/strong>)\u00a0and in the fall of 2018 headed to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/09\/20\/dominic-gutierrez-son-of-rey-mysterio-jr-begins-training-with-lance-storm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">he began training with WWE, WCW and ECW Superstar\u00a0<strong>Lance Storm<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26342\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26342\" style=\"width: 554px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26342\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/rey.png\" alt=\"Rey Mysterio\" width=\"554\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/rey.png 554w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/rey-300x214.png 300w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/rey-100x70.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 554px) 100vw, 554px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26342\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Rey Mysterio Instagram<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Early this year, following the completion of his training at the Storm Wrestling Academy, he returned to the West Coast, <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/01\/30\/rey-mysterios-son-continuing-training-in-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">training in La Mesa, California at the\u00a0<strong>Level Up Wrestling School<\/strong><\/a>. Level Up is a newer school, only founded in 2018, but it\u2019s run by West Coast indie legend\u00a0<strong>B-Boy<\/strong>, an 18-year veteran who has was a breakout star with\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG)<\/strong>\u00a0in its early formative years, as well as with\u00a0<strong>Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>IWA Mid South<\/strong>, and other West Coast indies like\u00a0<strong>Alternative Wrestling Show (AWS), Empire Wrestling Federation (EWF)<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>All Pro Wrestling (APW)<\/strong>. He\u2019s made a comeback of sorts the past year, working with\u00a0<strong>Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), Bar Wrestling, Inspire Pro<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_37126\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37126\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-37126\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/01\/ReyMysterioSon-e1548904593676.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-37126\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Rey Mysterio<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Early this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sescoops.com\/rey-mysterio-prince-mysterio-trademark\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rey Mysterio applied for the trademark <strong>Prince Mysterio<\/strong><\/a>, which many assumed would be Dominic&#8217;s new ring name (<em>Rey Mysterio<\/em> means Mystery King in Spanish).
