{"id":44569,"date":"2019-04-21T17:47:37","date_gmt":"2019-04-21T21:47:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/?p=44569"},"modified":"2019-06-08T09:57:45","modified_gmt":"2019-06-08T13:57:45","slug":"command-bolshoi-retires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2019\/04\/21\/command-bolshoi-retires\/","title":{"rendered":"Command Bolshoi Retires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Command Bolshoi&#8217;s promotion\u00a0<strong>Pure-J\u00a0<\/strong>today held her retirement show at Korakuen Hall in front of 1,530 fans.\u00a0 Bolshoi&#8217;s career spanned almost 30 years as she wrestled for almost every major promotion in the world having thousands of matches and making use of her diminutive size.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It&#39;s an incredibly important day as the legendary Command Bolshoi &#8211; a major influence of EVE, retires after an incredible 30 year career.<\/p>\n<p>We thank Command Bolshoi for her services to pro wrestling, her influence to EVE and wish her all the best with her well earned retirement. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NwgQRQzyIB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/NwgQRQzyIB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; EVE &#8211; Riot Grrrls of Wrestling (@ProWrestlingEVE) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ProWrestlingEVE\/status\/1119794437431939077?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">April 21, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bolshoi was a technically sound wrestler who has dedicated the later years of her career to promoting with Pure-J and putting on very crisp, technical matches.\u00a0 In her heyday though she was an unbelievable aerial wrestler who used her diminutive size to pull off spots that other wrestlers could only dream of.\u00a0 Her mask and attire helped her have many personas including the comedic Bolshoi Kid as she was able to keep the mystique behind the mask for years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44571\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44571\" style=\"width: 533px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44571\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/04\/Bolshoi-JWP-e1555880723988.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-44571\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: JWP<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bolshoi was trained in part by deathmatch legend\u00a0<strong>Atsushi Onita\u00a0<\/strong>who was a Junior Heavyweight in All Japan Pro Wrestling and it&#8217;s from here that Bolshoi gained her skills.\u00a0 When she debuted she was a regular for\u00a0<strong>Japanese Women\u00a0 Pro-Wrestling Project (JWP)\u00a0<\/strong>and made some appearances for\u00a0<strong>All Japan Women&#8217;s Pro-Wrestling (AJW)\u00a0<\/strong>where she regularly got to wrestle veterans like\u00a0<strong>Devil Masami<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mima Shimoda<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Cutie Suzuki\u00a0<\/strong>in singles matches which helped her develop very quickly.\u00a0 She was a regular for JWP until the early 00&#8217;s by which point she was a seasoned competitor<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Command BOLSHOI vs Cuty Suzuki\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R_mzxnN4bLo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It was in the early 00&#8217;s when she would make her way to huge companies like\u00a0<strong>New Japan Pro Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>in a Joshi showcase,\u00a0<strong>All Japan Pro Wrestling<\/strong>, and\u00a0she also wrestled for lucha giants\u00a0<strong>CMLL\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>AAA<\/strong>.\u00a0 She would then return to JWP and began wrestling for some newer joshi promotions like\u00a0<strong>Oz Academy<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sendai Girls\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling WAVE.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Arisa Nakajima &amp;
