The match was made official on the March 11th edition of <strong>Monday Night RAW<\/strong> &#8211; when <strong>Triple H<\/strong> accepted Batista&#8217;s demand of a No Holds Barred match between the two <strong>WWE<\/strong> veterans.\u00a0 This will mark the first time the two have worked a match <em>against<\/em> each other since <strong>Vengeance 2005<\/strong> (house shows not included) and will serve as one final opportunity for Triple H to do something he has remarkably never managed to do in his luxurious career: beat Batista one-on-one.<\/p>\n<h2>WrestleMania 35 Preview<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_43409\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-43409\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-43409\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/04\/9885714-e1554484393473.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-43409\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There were rumours for years that Batista wanted to promote Guardians of the Galaxy, during his previous 2014 return, but was laughed at by Triple H and <strong>Vince McMahon<\/strong> &#8211; who both believed the Marvel film was destined to be a bust (boy, were they wrong).\u00a0 From that point on &#8211; from Batista&#8217;s premature exit from the company in mid-2014 to his recent 2019 return &#8211; there seemed to be a bit of bad blood between the two sides.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_43408\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-43408\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-43408\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/04\/4c69792f7424ad09e5db783da2e55ed7-e1554484408732.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-43408\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Batista would later go on to claim that he had not been invited to<strong> Smackdown 1000<\/strong> &#8211; after months of pitching a retirement match against Triple H &#8211; a claim which gained media attention and an eventual place on the card for the man nicknamed The Animal.\u00a0 It is worth considering that a lot of this bad blood could be storyline; Batista is a smart businessman &#8211; someone who knows how to create a story to promote a match.\u00a0 Kayfabe or not, it has helped create one final match for Batista as he takes on Triple H one last time.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Batista takes a dig at Triple H during Evolution&#039;s reunion: SmackDown 1000, Oct. 16, 2018\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_Py6KfCVxUQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The last time these two fought, it was 2005.\u00a0 Facebook was in its infancy; YouTube was just six months old and <strong>CM Punk<\/strong> had not yet signed with the company.\u00a0 The three headliners of this year&#8217;s <strong>WrestleMania<\/strong> were teenagers.\u00a0 2005 was the beginning of the, at the time, a new era &#8211; which later became the &#8220;<strong>John Cena<\/strong> era&#8221;.\u00a0 However, at this time, John Cena was just one half of the duo who would dominate Monday Night RAW and Smackdown &#8211; the other half was Batista, who would, after the recent departure of Brock Lesnar, become the backbone of Smackdown; following the draft that saw Cena move to RAW and begin his decade of dominance.\u00a0 Following the Vengeance 2005 Hell in a Cell Match between The Animal and The Game (their last non-house show match), Triple H began to transition into tag team matches &#8211; reforming\u00a0<strong>DX<\/strong> with <strong>Shawn Michaels<\/strong>, after a series of matches with John Cena culminated in Triple H&#8217;s defeat at <strong>WrestleMania 22<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Batista attacks Ric Flair to send a message to Triple H: Raw, Feb. 25, 2019\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LfOSGrhIDK8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Since 2010, both stars have wrestled just a handful of matches.\u00a0 Batista retired from the ring in 2010 &#8211; following an I Quit Match loss against (who else but) John Cena.\u00a0 It was around this time Triple H transitioned into his current executive role; reserving an annual WrestleMania feud for himself, as well as the occasional pay-per-view feud.\u00a0 Triple H has, therefore, remained the more active of the two and &#8211; outside of his short 2014 run &#8211; Batista has not wrestled since 2010; having mainly focused on a successful acting career and a solo fight, solo win venture into MMA in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Triple H and Batista agree to a No Holds Barred Match at WrestleMania: Raw, March 11, 2019\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vV88QW3UD7c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
