{"id":41392,"date":"2019-03-28T11:27:12","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T15:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/?p=41392"},"modified":"2019-03-28T21:26:04","modified_gmt":"2019-03-29T01:26:04","slug":"wrestlemania-week-preview-wxw-amerika-ist-wunderbar-4-4-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2019\/03\/28\/wrestlemania-week-preview-wxw-amerika-ist-wunderbar-4-4-19\/","title":{"rendered":"#WrestleManiaWeek Preview &#8211; wXw: Amerika Ist Wunderbar (4\/4\/19)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Germany&#8217;s premier promotion\u00a0<strong>Westside Xtreme Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>(wXw) is running their first ever show on WrestleMania weekend.\u00a0 Though they have been hurt by the loss of\u00a0<strong>Ilja Dragunov\u00a0<\/strong>from this show, they are presenting one of the better looking show&#8217;s from this weekend as they have some of their own talent mixing\u00a0it up with names US\u00a0fans will know.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Yuu vs. LuFisto\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42046\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42046\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42046\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/D2H7Kg9WwAELprK-e1553217566631.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42046\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>wXw has a cracker of a match on their hands here as Yuu takes on the trailblazing <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/02\/28\/lufisto-in-the-sky-with-diamonds-pioneer-to-retire-at-years-end\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LuFisto<\/a>.\u00a0 Both of these women wrestle a similar enough style as they rely on strength and toughness to break down their opponents.\u00a0 Yuu uses her background in Judo to compliment her strength making her a formidable opponent.\u00a0 When she was in\u00a0<strong>Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>(TJPW) she was the monster on the roster but has had to adjust to being a powerhouse during her time in Europe.\u00a0 Ever since coming to Europe Yuu has been tested in some of the scene&#8217;s best companies like\u00a0<strong>Over The Top (OTT) Wrestling<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Fight Club: PRO\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>RevPro\u00a0<\/strong>among others.\u00a0 Her opponent today is someone that literally bleeds tough, Lufisto was a trailblazer for women&#8217;s wrestling on the independent scene and was never afraid to fight any man to prove how tough she was.\u00a0 She has been a part of some crazy deathmatches during her career and was a regular in\u00a0<strong>Combat Zone Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>for years.\u00a0 A deathmatch survivor facing one of Japan&#8217;s toughest exports in this one.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Absolute Andy vs. Chris Brookes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42045\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42045\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42045\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/D2H7JwdW0AA-BZ4-e1553217681521.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42045\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Absolute Andy was hoping to come in to this show as wXw Unified World Champion but he lost the title to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/03\/09\/andnew-bobby-gunns-wins-wxw-unified-world-wrestling-championship\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Bobby Gunns\u00a0<\/strong>at <strong>1<\/strong><strong>6 Carat Gold<\/strong><\/a> weekend and instead will come in with a chip on his shoulder.\u00a0 The 15 year veteran finally reached the top of German wrestling when he captured the title last year, to get to the title he had to lose his tag team <b>A4\u00a0<\/b>with\u00a0<strong>Marius Al-Ani\u00a0<\/strong>and he eventually resorted to some extremely underhanded tactics to hold on to the title.\u00a0 His 217 day run as wXw champion was undoubtedly the peak of his career but Andy has won many titles in Europe for various promotions such as\u00a0<strong>German Wrestling Promotion<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>German Hurrican Wrestling<\/strong>,\u00a0German Stampede Wrestling, and\u00a0<strong>Ultimate Kombat Wrestling Alliance<\/strong>.\u00a0 Andy&#8217;s opponent is Chris Brookes, Brookes is the biggest unsigned star in European Wrestling right now.\u00a0 Brookes has managed to become a big name by heading two popular factions in\u00a0<strong>CCK\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Schadenfreude<\/strong>.\u00a0 As a member of both, he&#8217;s\u00a0had runs on top of FCP,\u00a0<strong>ATTACK! Pro Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>PROGRESS Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>and has become a bit of a tag team specialist as he&#8217;s held tag team championships 12 times in his career.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>wXw Tag Team Championship: Aussie Open (Mark Davis &amp; Kyle Fletcher) (c) vs. The Work Horsemen (JD Drake &amp; Anthony Henry)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42044\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42044\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42044\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/D2H7IhyX0AE5GFa-e1553217456980.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42044\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Aussie Open<\/strong> are<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/03\/09\/andnew-aussie-open-win-wxw-world-tag-team-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> the wXw tag team champions<\/a> coming into this match as one of the UK scene&#8217;s best tag teams takes on one of the best tag teams in the US scene.\u00a0 Aussie Open came to the UK in 2016 and were a featured act in\u00a0<strong>Lucha Forever\u00a0<\/strong>where they got to showcase their talents against some of the UK&#8217;s best tag teams like CCK,\u00a0<strong>Moustache Mountain<\/strong> (Trent Seven &amp; Tyler Bate),\u00a0<strong>The 198<\/strong> (Wild Boar &amp; Flash Morgan Webster) and\u00a0<strong>FSU\u00a0<\/strong>(Mark Andrews &amp; Eddie Dennis).\u00a0 Their impressive displays with LF saw them make their way to PROGRESS, RevPro, OTT and the rest of the UK&#8217;s elite promotions.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t until mid-2018 that everything clicked for Aussie Open though, a new attitude and joining Schadenfreude saw them become featured acts in companies like FCP and OTT and soon enough they were PROGRESS and RevPro tag team champions.\u00a0 Coming into 2019 Aussie Open were the top unsigned team in the UK and after a 2 years of hard work reached the top of the UK scene. They face one of the top indie tag teams in the US circuit in <strong>The Work Horsemen<\/strong> of WWN Champion <strong>JD Drake<\/strong> and <strong>Full Impact Pro<\/strong> World Champion <strong>Anthony Henry<\/strong>. Outside their singles success, as a duo they&#8217;re former EVOLVE Tag Team Champions and reigning <strong>Freelance Wrestling<\/strong> and <strong>Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment (AEW)<\/strong> Tag Team Champions. This should be an excellent matchup of UK and US tag team wrestling.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Lucky Kid vs. David Starr<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42048\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42048\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42048\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/D2H7PMpXgAYSUrl-e1553217649227.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42048\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>wXw&#8217;s newest star and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/03\/10\/lucky-kid-wins-wxw-16-carat-gold-2019-tournament\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">16-carat winner<\/a> Lucky Kid takes on The Product David Starr.\u00a0 This match could be an actual show stealer as both men are very talented in the ring.\u00a0 Kid comes into this with huge momentum after becoming a made man in wXw when he won 16 Carat.\u00a0 The fans have long been wanting Lucky Kid to reach the top of wXw as his character work had made him a fan favorite after years of being a tag team wrestler as a member of\u00a0<strong>Young Lions<\/strong>.\u00a0 Kid&#8217;s character is hard to describe but he&#8217;s a bit of an odd guy that plays mind games on his opponent with his weirdness.\u00a0 Kid&#8217;s opponent is someone that has become a name on everyone&#8217;s lips, David Starr has been making his claim to be the best unsigned wrestler in the world recently.\u00a0 Starr&#8217;s highly controversial promo ahead of his <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/02\/21\/roh-world-title-to-be-defended-in-israel-in-april\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ROH title match<\/a> has gotten the wrestling world&#8217;s attention but wXw fans have seen that side of Starr before.\u00a0 Starr has history in wXw as he is a former 3-time Shotgun Champion and with his recent move to Europe has been showcasing his talents in Europe in places like PROGRESS, OTT,\u00a0<strong>International Pro Wrestling: UK<\/strong> and wXw.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>LAX (Santana &amp; Ortiz) vs. The Crown (Jurn Simmons &amp; James Alexander)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42047\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42047\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42047\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/D2H7KnjX0AACxHv-e1553217601788.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42047\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>LAX took over in 2018 as they became the longest<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2018\/12\/04\/lax-longest-reigning-impact-tag-team-champions\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> reigning Impact Tag Team Champions of all time<\/a> and had big feuds in impact against the likes of the\u00a0<strong>Lucha Brothers\u00a0<\/strong>(Pentagon &amp; Fenix) the <strong>OG LAX<\/strong> (Homicide and Hernandez) and\u00a0<strong>Ohio Versus Everything\u00a0<\/strong>(Jake &amp; Dave Crist).\u00a0 They also made their way to Europe for a brief tour where they had an instant classic with CCK.\u00a0 LAX are a well-oiled machine and one of the best tag teams in the world, this leaves their opponents with a big mountain to climb.\u00a0 The Crown will be happy to rise to the challenge as both Simmons and Alexander are experienced wrestlers and have spent the last few months teaming together.\u00a0 When not in wXw James is mostly seen in CZW or\u00a0<strong>NOVA Pro\u00a0<\/strong>but has had the most success of his career in Germany.\u00a0 Simmons is one of the names syonoymous with xWx, his former gimmick of having a very long entrance filled with air guitar helped him catch international eyes but he has abandoned that side of himself ever since his feud with David Starr that cost him his hair.\u00a0 A former 2-time wXw Unified World Champion and an imposing big man Jurn Simmons is not a man that you want to underestimate.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Darby Allin vs Avalanche<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42308\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42308\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42308\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/Darby-Allin-vs-Avalance-e1553542797678.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42308\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Tag team specialist Avalanche gets a chance to prove how good he is when he faces one of the US indie scenes best talents in Darby Allin.\u00a0 Avalanche is a former 3-time tag team champion in wXw and has mostly wrestled for wXw for his entire career.\u00a0 Avalanche is one of the more underrated guys in European Wrestling as he is a wrestler in a similar vein to the likes of\u00a0<strong>Dave Mastiff\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Shigehiro Irie\u00a0<\/strong>as he is both powerful and agile.\u00a0 He will be able to put this power to use as he faces a much smaller Allin.\u00a0 Allin is a daredevil through and through who takes more punishment than any human should.\u00a0 He has often faced stronger guys like Avalanche and knows when to pick his spots to pull out the win.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Shotgun Championship: Marius Al-Ani (c) vs Emil Sitoci<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42310\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42310\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42310\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/Emil-Sitoci-vs-Marius-Al-Ani-e1553543581959.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-42310\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: wXw<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Emil Sitoci is just 33 years old but is a 17 year veteran! the Dutch native has been wrestling all over Europe for his entire career but has always called wXw home.\u00a0 He&#8217;s fighting for a title he previously held back in 2017 but has won titles all around Europe in promotions like\u00a0<strong>Dragonhearts<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling Holland<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>German Stampede Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Freestyle Championship Wrestling<\/strong>.\u00a0 Sitoci faces a man who is only now getting the recognition he deserves as Al-Ani has become a featured performer in wXw.\u00a0 Al-Ani is getting the first big singles run of his career as he is in the midst of a 233 day run as Shotgun champion.\u00a0 In his reign, he has beaten the likes of Jurn Simmons,\u00a0<strong>Alexander Wolfe<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lucky Kid<\/strong>,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Bobby Gunns\u00a0<\/strong>as he has proved his potential to be one of the top stars of German Wrestling.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: Bobby Gunns (c) vs Shigehiro Irie<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42312\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42312\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42312\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/03\/Gunns-vs-Irie-e1553544469161.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption 3-time DDT KO-D Openweight Champion who has been on a bit of a European excursion the past few months.\u00a0 Irie is called the Japanese Beast for good reason as his lariats cant take the head off of any opponent that&#8217;s on the receiving end.\u00a0 He can also move with unbelievable speed as his cannonball comes flying at you from almost out of nowhere.\u00a0 Irie presents a big challenge to the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2019\/03\/09\/andnew-bobby-gunns-wins-wxw-unified-world-wrestling-championship\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> new champion Bobby Gunns<\/a> who has finally reached the top of wXw after making people pay attention in 2018.\u00a0 The King Of Smoke Style is a very charismatic performer who had a 224 day run as Shotgun champion in 2018 which saw fans start to pay attention to him.\u00a0 He&#8217;s finally coming into his own 6 years into his career as it feels like he&#8217;s ready to become a superstar of
