The reports state that Madison Rayne was unhappy with the creative direction of her character and after meeting with ROH officials, the two sides decided to part ways, making Rayne once again a free agent.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Women of Honor: Ashley Lane vs Mschif vs Lacey vs Daizee\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z5SjjKlwrIc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Madison Rayne made her major debut with ROH back in 2008 (as <strong>Ashley Rayne<\/strong>), after breaking out of the Ohio area independents and working with <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong>, where she is a former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion with\u00a0<strong>Naveah<\/strong>. She would go on to work with IMPACT Wrestling later that year and continue on with IMPACT for the next decade in various capacities. Primarily known as an in-ring performer, she became a 5x IMPACT Knockouts Champion, but near the end of her career with IMPACT also worked in creative and on commentary. Her final run with the company came in the first half of 2018 when she had one last run towards the Knockouts Championship before ultimately losing to Knockouts Champion\u00a0<strong>Su Yung\u00a0<\/strong>at last year&#8217;s\u00a0<strong><em>IMPACT <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2018\/07\/21\/preview-impact-slammiversary-xvi-7-22-18\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Slammiversary XVI<\/a><\/em><\/strong> in July. She&#8217;s also a former 2x IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Champion, once with <strong>The Beautiful People<\/strong> and once alongside\u00a0<strong>Gail Kim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Madison Rayne vs Mickie James: FULL MATCH (TNA Genesis 2011) | IMPACT Wrestling Full Matches\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5z5m8KdHd80?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Last year was a big year for Rayne professionally, as she not only challenged for the ROH Women of Honor Championship in the inaugural tournament at the beginning of the year and the IMPACT Knockouts Championship but also competed in the 2018 WWE <strong>Mae Young Classic.<\/strong>\u00a0She also competed for the Heart of SHIMMER title last October, and in September appeared at <strong>Cody Rhodes<\/strong> and <strong>The Young Bucks<\/strong>&#8216; indie SuperCard, <em><strong>All In<\/strong><\/em>, in a fatal four way that also featured <strong>Tessa Blanchard, Britt Baker<\/strong>, and <strong>Chelsea Green<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mercedes Martinez vs. Ashley Rayne - First-Round Match: Mae Young Classic, Sept. 12, 2018\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3zfEgt_TeYI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>With her options now open, it will be interesting to see if Madison Rayne returns to IMPACT Wrestling once again, or if perhaps <strong>All Elite Wrestling (AEW)<\/strong> is another option. The management of AEW is clearly a fan of her work (based on her\u00a0<em>All In\u00a0<\/em>booking) and last year <a href=\"https:\/\/en.superluchas.com\/madison-rayne-habla-de-por-que-eligio-roh-sobre-wwe\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in an interview with <strong>CBS Pittsburgh<\/strong><\/a>, she revealed that AEW Brand Manager <strong>Brandi Rhodes<\/strong> was a dream opponent of hers, stating that &#8220;there\u2019s just something about Brandi. She\u2019s this really hungry, not up-and-comer because she\u2019s been around the wrestling business for a long time. There\u2019s this star quality about Brandi, and it makes me excited as a fan to watch her grow and evolve and change.&#8221; Rayne went on to say that &#8220;As a competitor, she\u2019s somebody that I really want to get in there with and I want to test her, but I also kind of want to test myself against somebody who\u2019s so young and hungry into being in the ring.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_39494\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39494\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-39494\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/maxresdefault-4-e1551398210905.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-39494\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Bill Apter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As for a potential return to the WWE Universe, it seems somewhat unlikely, as Rayne herself removed herself from any WWE contract talks following the Mae Young Classic as she wasn&#8217;t willing to relocate to Orlando in case they wanted her to start in NXT.\u00a0 &#8220;I understand that they have a system that they put their talent through, regardless of whether you\u2019ve never taken one bump, or you\u2019ve been wrestling for many years, and that system starts in Orlando,&#8221; she said to CBS Pittsburgh. &#8220;While wrestling is still very, very important to me, being a mother and being a wife, those two things are greatly more important.
