{"id":39259,"date":"2019-02-25T20:58:47","date_gmt":"2019-02-26T01:58:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/?p=39259"},"modified":"2019-02-25T20:58:47","modified_gmt":"2019-02-26T01:58:47","slug":"mikey-nicholls-joins-chaos-in-njpw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2019\/02\/25\/mikey-nicholls-joins-chaos-in-njpw\/","title":{"rendered":"Mikey Nicholls Joins CHAOS in NJPW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rocky Romero<\/strong>, the 8x IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in NJPW with <strong>Roppongi Vice, No Remorse Corp<\/strong>, and <strong>Forever Hooligan<\/strong>s, dropped a bombshell on Monday morning, announcing that Aussie indie star <strong>Mikey Nicholls<\/strong>, formerly known as <strong>Nick Miller<\/strong> of <strong>The Mighty<\/strong> in NXT, had joined <strong>CHAOS<\/strong> and would be debuting in New Japan as part of the <em><strong>New Japan Cup<\/strong><\/em> in March.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/azucarRoc\/status\/1099918608736481281<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was followed shortly after by New Japan, who revealed that Nicholls&#8217; first-round matchup would be against a returning <strong>Hikuleo<\/strong>, the younger brother of <strong>Bullet Club<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Guerrillas of Destiny<\/strong> (Tama Tonga &amp; Tanga Leo) and youngest son of WWE\/WCW Legend <strong>Haku<\/strong>. Hikuleo has been out of action since March of 2018 due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/njpwglobal\/status\/1099928823884333056<\/p>\n<p>It marks Nicholls&#8217; return to a major promotion since <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/12\/14\/nxt-releases-nick-miller-and-tucker-taishan-dong-quits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">he was released from the WWE<\/a> back in December to be closer to his wife and newborn child in Australia. Prior to him and tag partner <strong>Shane Haste<\/strong> (now known as Shane Thorne in NXT) joining NXT in 2016, the duo then known as <strong>The Mighty Don&#8217;t Kneel<\/strong> were one of Japan&#8217;s best tag teams, winning the GHC Tag Team titles twice in <strong>Pro Wrestling NOAH<\/strong>, being named the best tag team in Japan in 2013 by Tokyo Sports.
