With the announcement that the classic line-up of D-Generation X<\/strong> was being inducted into the 2019 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame<\/a> this past Monday – featuring Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna, X-Pac<\/strong> and the New Age Outlaws<\/strong> (“Road Dogg” Jesse James & “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn) – it added a rarity to the WWE Hall of Fame. With Road Dogg<\/strong>‘s induction, he now joins his father, “Bullet Bob” Armstrong<\/strong>, in the Hall, making the Armstrong duo only the fourth time since the Hall of Fame started in 1993 that a father and son have both been inducted into the WWE’s Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

The Von Erichs – Fritz Von Erich, Kevin Von Erich, Kerry Von Erich, David Von Erich, Mike Von Erich, Chris Von Erich (2009)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The first time it happened, it actually happened all at once. In 2009, the WWE inducted the entire Von Erich wrestling family, starting with the patriarch, Fritz Von Erich<\/strong>. Fritz ran Big Time Wrestling<\/strong>, one of the NWA’s strongest Texas territories, starting in 1966, although today it’s best known by its latter name, World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW)<\/strong>. Fritz was inducted with all five of his wrestling sons, David, Kevin, Kerry, Mike, and Chris, who sadly had a rather tragic history<\/a> despite their combined accolades.<\/p>\n

The Harts – Stu Hart (2010) & Bret “Hitman” Hart (2006)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Normally the father enters the Hall of Fame first, but in 2006, Bret “Hitman” Hart<\/strong> became the first member of the Hart family to enter the WWE Hall of Fame. Four years later, his legendary father Stu Hart<\/strong>, who ran Stampede Wrestling<\/strong> for decades as Canada’s greatest promotion and trained a Hall of Fame worthy list of stars from around the world, was inducted into the Hall of Fame, making the Harts the second tandem to be included in the Hall.<\/p>\n

The Windhams – Blackjack Mulligan (2006) & Barry Windham (2012)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In 2006, the WWE inducted the legendary Blackjacks tag team, featuring Blackjack Lanza<\/strong> and Blackjack Mulligan<\/strong>, two of the toughest men of the 1970s. Blackjack Mulligan – real name Robert Windham – also had a prolific wrestling family, and his son Barry Windham<\/strong> was also inducted into the Hall of Fame, as part of the classic line-up of the Four Horsemen in 2012.<\/p>\n

The Armstrongs – “Bullet” Bob Armstrong (2011) & “Road Dogg” Jesse James (2019)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Bullet” Bob Armstrong had a lengthy career that began in 1960 that saw him become of the top stars in Southern wrestling, working for Southeastern Championship Wrestling and various other NWA territories throughout his decorated career. He was inducted in 2011. With his son, Brian Armstrong (aka Road Dogg) now entering the Hall of Fame this year, the Armstrongs become only the fourth father and son tandem in the WWE Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
