It\u00a0is the time when the storylines and matches are at its best and all the fans and experts eagerly wait for April to come. TV ratings suddenly rise and part-timers like <strong>Triple H<\/strong> and <strong>Undertaker<\/strong> starts looking for their wrestling attire. The excitement is at an all-time\u00a0high, but it also has major drawbacks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_38390\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38390\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38390\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/B87h94eIUAARaGK-e1550108496158.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"394\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-38390\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With the storylines building towards the April\u00a0pay-per-view, other events like <strong><em>Elimination\u00a0Chamber<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Fastlane<\/em><\/strong> just linger through in the background, without fluttering many leaves. These events never get the attention that other B pay-per-views like <strong><em>TLC<\/em><\/strong> or <strong><em>Hell in a Cell<\/em><\/strong> gets. This is really\u00a0morose for an event like the <em>Elimination Chamber<\/em>, considering that it has one of the most dangerous stipulations that WWE has to offer.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_38391\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38391\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38391\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/wwe-elimination-chamber-1543564515-e1550108535839.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"354\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-38391\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There will be discussions regarding the matches, but all would be focused\u00a0on how they can use it for putting WrestleMania&#8217;s card into place. We all are pertained on seeing who <strong>Asuka<\/strong> will face at <em>WrestleMania<\/em> rather than at the\u00a0<em>Elimination Chamber<\/em> or <em>Fastlane<\/em>. Even in the &#8216;go home&#8217; of <em><strong>Raw<\/strong><\/em> for the <em>Elimination Chamber<\/em>, the entire episode was revolving around <strong>Becky Lynch<\/strong>&#8216;s WrestleMania&#8217;s match with <strong>Ronda Rousey<\/strong> and had little to no mention about <strong>Ruby Riott<\/strong>, who was facing Rousey for Raw Women&#8217;s Championship at <em>Elimination Chamber<\/em> this Sunday. They went as far as making the match between Ronda and <strong>Charlotte<\/strong> &#8220;official&#8221; in their twitter handle.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/RAW?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#RAW<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WomensChampionship?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#WomensChampionship<\/a> match at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WrestleMania?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#WrestleMania<\/a> just got a MAJOR shake-up, as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RondaRousey?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@RondaRousey<\/a> will now defend the title against <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MsCharlotteWWE?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@MsCharlotteWWE<\/a>! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pC1HhuvxuL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/t.co\/pC1HhuvxuL<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1lTMh8VQ1F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/1lTMh8VQ1F<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; WWE WrestleMania (@WrestleMania) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WrestleMania\/status\/1095179712945709056?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">February 12, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The challengers for the WWE Championship were announced by Triple H without any matches and the participants for the Women&#8217;s tag team championship from <em><strong>SmackDown<\/strong><\/em>&#8216;s side announced themselves without winning any qualifying matches, like their <em>Raw<\/em> Counterparts. Most of the other matches for the event were announced on social media with minimal build-up.<\/p>\n<p>Even if we take a look at previous year&#8217;s matches, no one apart from the ultimate champions benefits from it. In 2018, <strong>Braun Strowman<\/strong> basically ran through his opponents, eliminating 5 of them in the process before getting pinned by <strong>Roman Reigns<\/strong>. Yet, he was stuck\u00a0with a kid as his partner in <em>WrestleMania<\/em> and spent the rest of the year laying his hand on the mid-carders. When writers used the stipulation for determining the No. 1 contender for a championship at WrestleMania, the winner has gone on to lose the match 3 out 3 times at the Grandest Stage of All, which doesn&#8217;t speak much about the challenger&#8217;s attributes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Braun Strowman leaves a path of destruction: WWE Elimination Chamber 2018 (WWE Network Exclusive)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M_GBetBpsgM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some of the greatest matches inside the chamber have been forgotten due to the lack of hype or because of handling of the situation. 2017&#8217;s WWE Championship elimination chamber was based on the rivalry between <strong>John Cena<\/strong> and <strong>AJ Styles<\/strong>, which went throughout the course of the match. It had some side stories too, like the early elimination of <strong>Baron Corbin<\/strong>, who then costed <strong>Dean Ambrose<\/strong>&#8216;s elimination too. In the end, we got a surprise winner as not many expected <strong>Bray Wyatt <\/strong>to win, especially when he was portrayed as much weaker than Cena or Styles. The match included many feuds but WWE couldn&#8217;t capitalize on it moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eWk53W3OBtc<\/p>\n<p>2010&#8217;s World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match was a perfect blend of seriousness and fun. It had a great heel, brilliant mid-match promo, messy finish, difficult spots, and The Undertaker. The highlight of the match came at the end when <strong>Shawn Micheals<\/strong> burst out from underneath the chamber to cost Undertaker his championship. It was booked to perfection and was the distinct combination of WWE&#8217;s past and future. It did generate hype for Undertaker vs Micheals, but <strong>Chris Jericho<\/strong>, the ultimate winner got lost in all that excitement and many don&#8217;t remember how well this whole match was planned.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"John Cena wins Raw Elimination Chamber Match: Elimination Chamber 2010\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IQSzFwzGr_Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>2009&#8217;s World Heavyweight Championship match is arguably the best Elimination Chamber match ever. It was one by the man who was not even supposed to be in it. <strong>Edge<\/strong> attacked <strong>Kofi Kingston<\/strong> during his entrance and somehow managed to take his place inside the chamber. The highlight of the match came at the latter half of the match, when Chris Jericho, Edge, and <strong>Rey Mysterio<\/strong> put aside the heel\/ babyface dynamics and joined hands to eliminate John Cena, which does not happen in WWE on many such occasions.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Raw Elimination Chamber Match: No Way Out 2009\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hKF5Ny7Wh8Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>All these matches had great stories and moments and yet people never talk about this during discussing their big moments and wrestlers, because those moments are mainly focused around big pay-per-views.\u00a0<em>Elimination Chamber<\/em> does stand out because of its captivating structure, but its scheduling makes it feel like a third wheel between <em>Royal Rumble<\/em> and <em>Wrestlemania<\/em>, two of the grandest event of the year in WWE Universe.
